We stayed here for a week in a mobile home- 2 adults and 3 children aged 2, 12 and 11. We booked it as Logis du Breuil was full. However we absolutely loved this site. It was clean and welcoming. The pool was a little small but never busy and the slides were a hit. There was a free bouncy castle and trampoline climbing thing. The bar was lovely and had beautiful views. There were a few events on at the bar- band night and dancing but all was quiet by 11pm. In fact the only noise in the evening was from a neighbouring campsite but that wasn't intrusive. The toddler loved the park. The camping toilets were clean but without toilet paper. The local area was nice with a gorgeous sandy beach at La Grande Cote.

I think there were about three English families, a few Irish but mostly French families on the site. We had a nosy around the camping area in the upper site which was lovely and very well spaced out. It was very friendly. If we return to the area we wouldn't hesitate in staying here again.

Our second visit here. We ended up on the upper site by accident last year, and enjoyed it so much that we booked there again this year. T

Can't comment on the lower site, but that has been done comprehensively in the other review. There is now a fenced-off basketball court for those inclined that way. Here are vines here, too, that the family use to make their own Cognac and Pineau. Very difficult not to cash in the pool wrist-band deposit agains a bottle of Napoleon when leaving!

There are 4-6 plots with EHC; 4 of them are grouped together on the easterly end of the first avenue. The two others are either side of the sanitaires. The attitude is normal for a French site; you've paid for your 100 square metres, you can do what you like with it, so it can look untidy at times (e. G. Washing lines and even a hammock strung from trees)but this doesn't bother us. As stated in the other review, it is mostly mobile homes at the top, but we found there was a strong community sense on the 4 pitches clustered together. One couple has been coming more or less since the farm was made into a campsite, and another family for about 10 years.

We found that the campsite was about 99% French, which we regard as a positive, but I can understand why some might prefer a site like Le Logis de Breuil which has a significantly larger English-speaking contingent. We, however, like abroad to feel as abroad as possible. Having said that, the family that run the campsite (the man driving a white van or riding a clapped-out mountain bike is not a maintenance man, but Daniel, the co-owner, and his wife (whose name I forget)is usually at reception)and the couple who run the bar go out of their way to speak English if French is an obstacle.

We went down for one of the organised evenings - a karaoke night - and this is not something I would usually do - and had a good time. The people there seemed to appreciate seeing les Anglais getting stuck in, and it was worth putting up with some of the dire tunes on offer.

This is a friendly, unsophisticated site, and I would definitely consider going back for a third time next year.

Excellent site ideal for families, swimming pool maybe a little bit small for some, two slides and a toboggan slide though to keep children happy, life guard in attendance all the time pool area open. The only slight drawback to the pool position if you are pitched in the lower part of the site is you have to walk along a minor road cum back lane for about 50 yards but don't let this put you of.

Lower part of site toilet and shower block with disabled facilities always kept clean and tidy on our three visits so far.

The lower site has about 25 EH's all large 100m square pitches also some non electric and statics.

Upper part of the site has mostly statics but does have an area for tourers not sure on toilets and showers, washing facilities as never had to use them but would expect them to be maintained to the same standard as lower area.

Playgrounds on the small side both located on sandy areas more for younger kids, there is a bouncy castle in swimming pool area as well.

Bar and cafe area is what you would expect of most small French sites, only ever used once for a coffee whilst the kids were swimming so cannot really comment on. Whilst we've stayed they have had various disco and karaoke nights which we have listened to from a distance in our tent, French and disco you know what to expect!

On the whole a well run site no problems encountered on our three visits so far, doesn't seem to be frequented by Brits very often not whilst we've been there anyway.

Bread and croissants can be bought from the bar area in the morning, Spar shop and takeaway about 100m walk into village also other small commercial area about 1 mile further on in St Augustin.

Beaches on the Grand Cote about 10 mins drive away through the pine forests.
