Very peaceful and relaxing site. Lovely rural atmosphere.
A delight to stay there.
Facilities basic but very adequate. Nice pool.
Lovely terrace area outside the bar.
All in all a wonderful place to relax, read, visit nearby villages and generally recharge the batteries Steep hills for cycling though - fine if you have an e-bike !

A lovely site run extremely well by lovely people.
Arrival to the site is down some windy roads and I should imagine that you would need your foot to hover over the break peddle if you are towing a caravan, but stick with it, the view from the site is beautiful.
The toilet block is very clean and very well maintained as is the shower and washing area.
We visited out of season so the camp site was rather quiet which suited us fine.
I would really recommend this site to everyone.

The site is a member of the RDP campings group - which are 5 Dutch owned campsites in Portugal.
Situated in the Serra Da Estrela natural park approx 5 miles from Gouveia, on the edge of the small village of Nabainhos. The pitches are behind the main house on tiered levels, plenty of space and fabulous views over the village and valley.
Each pitch has ehu and there is fresh drinking water available, dish washing, hand clothes washing and washing machine. Toilets are immaculate, showers do look a little tired - but they are very clean with excellent water pressure and piping hot water. There is also chem disposal available.
The site has its own small bar which also serves food. There is a swimming pool and table tennis table plus a games room.
The villages or Melo and Nabainhos are both less then a few minutes walk. There are a few cafes in each. In Melo we found a couple of really nice cafe bars selling food / drinks, as well as a post office and small supermarket. The people here seemed very friendly and the pace of life even slower than we found in the south of the country. Well worth visiting for the stunning scenery and to see a different view than the coasts.
The hosts of the site are very friendly and helpful, they run a beautifully kept site and we would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone looking to explore this part of the country. If you are heading south from Spain then this is a good stop off crossing over from Salamanca ( the site can give you leaflets on the RDP sites which are well placed for travelling down).
