We had a very pleasant stay at Camping Toulouse Le Rupe. I speak a little French, and always try, but need helping out every now and then.
The gentleman who was in charge, was very helpful and speaking English when I couldn't find the words in French. He was also very helpful in ordering us a taxi and answering, kindly, to all our questions. We had a laugh!
It was a very clean and tidy campsite. Being 'out of season' the restaurant was not open but we expected that and had our own provisions.
We were also able to walk to restaurants that were open, only a short distance away. We really enjoyed staying there and would go again. Great place.

Entrance a nightmare if not prepared, when you have a large unit. Staff were cheerful and helpful.
Used as a rest area on our way down to Barcelona.
Young families are catered for.

We found this site rather odd I guess. It has fairly good security however that made me wonder why. There were quite a lot of occupied static when we were there and it felt a little like an traveller site in parts.
However the welcome was ok and the pitch too though some electric lead runs were long.
The facilities were very good indeed, clean and modern. We'd use it for an overnight stop but I'd not be keen on staying longer.

We had intended staying a couple of nights but cut it short - 26 euros off season + 9 euros for 2 hours of internet!
Unisex toilets with dish washing and clothes washing facilities - all under one roof.
There was a travellers' camp down the road and although security was excellent, to be honest, we weren't impressed. Yes the pitches were up to standard - flat and hard, but we were impressed. We won't be going back.

This could be an excellent site but for external factors!
Toulouse is a great city and, with trips to nearby town such as Albi, kept us occupied for a week: we could have stayed longer! The city has two metro lines and a well co-ordinated bus system. The campsite is about 400 m from a bus route which runs from a metro station. The buses stop running quite early but the campsite runs a navette for later trips! is possible to make extensive walks or cycle trips along the nearby canal.
People at the campsite were very helpful, friendly with sufficient English to get by. The shop sells basics including some very reasonable rose wine straight from the fridge which is great if you don't have your own cooler. A cafe selling snacks and drinks in the evening time with dancing and musical events some evenings: always fairly quiet and ending at a reasonable time in the evening. No restos or bars near the campsite but plenty (including a Flunch) near the central metro station. Playground for children. Dogs allowed but hey, like children, were kept under control. Excellent sanitary facilities. The site itself is extensive with sufficient space foor most needs; high security fences.
On these grounds the site would have been very highly rated *however* there was a big problem with night-time noise. There is a busy trainline to one side of the site and elsewhere there are arenas/nightclubs making a lot of noise all night - for at least four of the nights we were there these were going to 3 in the morning or beyond. Using ordinary ear-lugs I was able to cut much of this out but my wife was unable to do so; perhaps heavy industrial grade earplugs are necessary?

My husband and I chose this site because of its proximity to the University of Toulouse where we were attending a conference.
The camp site is situated within a park on the outskirts of Toulouse. There is a lovely lake nearby where it is possible to fish and water-ski (using a fixed rotary conveyor system). There is also a disco within half a mile of the camp site which pumped out high volume music until 4. 30am. And this was mid week, not conducive to a good night's sleep! There was also what appeared to be a gypsy encampment within close proximity and a railway line right next door.
Security on the camp site was very tight. You needed a swipe card to get in and out of the gate at all times. This swipe card failed when we tried using it so we had to call for assistance to get out. Quite frustrating when you need a quick getaway!
The site itself was flat and prone to flooding. The pitch we were given was very hard and pitted. Fortunately we had sturdy pegs. The pitch was just big enough for our 4 man tent and car. We had electricity.
The Sanitaires were undercover and kept clean although the drains in the shower area were smelly. (This is not unusual in France though)
All in all, we stayed there because it was in a convenient situation. I would not recommend it to anyone and we would not consider returning.
