The site is in a lovely area, a bit close to the road as you can hear the cars racing past, but it is peaceful and a laid back atmosphere. The owner is very friendly and informative of the area.
The down side, and I feel it is a big downside are the toilets and showers. The toilets are portaloos and although kept clean they stunk. I do a lot of wild camping and would say that that is cleaner and fresher than this site! To have a normal wash you had to run a shower as there were no hand basins. The showers were of the portable type but were nice and hot.
Luckily we did not eat in our tent as we went out but there were no washing up facilities at all, I would say that this should be classed as a caravan or motor home site as they can be self sufficient.
A nice area but not suitable for a multi day stop for tent campers.

Picked this site to visit the Dorset Chilli Festival because it was almost half the price of others we looked at. We thought they didn't have hook up but when we arrived we found they could offer it, which was a great bonus. The site is immaculately kept and the owners who welcomed us were very friendly.
There's loads of space and flexibility - we were camping with a non-hook up tent with some friends of ours and there were no silly rules about caravans being in one place and tents in another. With a dog it was great there was so much space.
Even when there were over 10 units there we were allowed to throw a ball for our dog on the field itself, which made it very easy for us. We had a great time and having a BBQ was fine (as long as you don't burn the grass - owners can offer stones to put BBQs on if needed to protect the grass).
There is a large barn conversion at the end of the site marked as 'The Roman Forte' in grand letters but we were never sure what this was and it wasn't in use at all during our stay - probably an occasional wedding or party venue?
You could walk along the lane to a pub (8 minutes) or drive to it in about 2 minutes. A Co-op was very close and a Waitrose in Wimbourne about 5 minutes away.
Didn't eat out but if you have small children we would thoroughly recommend visiting the Wimbourne model village - our 18 month old loved crawling down the mini streets and peering in the windows and the cafe was good value - children's meals portions were huge so would share 1 between 2 unless you have a very hungry child!
Dorset Chilli Festival was also fantastic but unlikely you will catch that by chance unless you are going specifically for it.
Would definitely go back to the site. Very easy to find. The toilets were the festival style temporary ones, but kept very clean and the showers (similar style) seemed fine (didn't use them myself though). There aren't any communal washing up facilities.
Owners very relaxed about checkout time which was lovely as we were able to pack up then go to the model village without hitching up the van and then pop back for it after.
Highly recommended and great value for money.
