We booked online, and we're informed that there was a music event on. We decided to give it a try and weren't disappointed, the music event turned out to be a rock concert.
The lady on reception placed us at the top of the site as it would be quieter and it was. The concert wasn't that bad.
Since previous entries, the toilet / shower block has been rebuilt, very clean facilities with hot showers. There is a pot wash area and washing /drying machines.
The swimming pool was only open at weekends when we were there.
EHU available on all pitches.
Most pitches have shade. The area is good for hiking with nice walks along the coast. We also used our bikes.
We paid €23 / night with Acsi.

Iwalani's review is still current with a couple of changes, menu deal dai costs a bit more, fish and chips night and curry night are €5. 50 and great value, happy hour every night in the bar, the supermarket is very well stocked. Overhead cover on a couple of the 'streets' have been removed but others haven't which make it very shady on those pitches. 20 amp electric on every pitch along with waste water point. A few long stayers of differing nationalities and a few comings and goings daily. Advisable to book from mid January onwards when it has just become very busy. Great site

Great site well worth a visit. We arrived late Feb into march and the site was quite busy so booking is recommended. Although we asked for a big pitch because we have a large caravan the one allocated was going to be difficult to get onto so they said pick one you want. The staff in reception are very helpful.
Toilet block good and was just being refurbished as was the very big pool. Restaurant Oasis on site did a very good menu del dia for 11 euros which was changed daily. The bar is ok but very busy for happy hour. Supermarket on site has the basics but expensive.
The nearest town has better facilities but the big supermarkets are quite far away in Almeria.
This is desert area but there had been rain a week before so everywhere was awash with wild flowers and herbs. Also bees and I got stung.
There are lots of picturesque little seaside villages with plenty of restaurants and I would say this area would be very busy high season.
We booked for three nights and stayed seven, at 19 euros a night for two of us, three dogs and a fully equipped pitch. We got 7 nights for the price of 6 so all in with acsi card 114 euros which is great value.
We will go back but not high season.

This is a large and rather crowded site with quite small pitches arranged in a regimented fashion. However, it has plenty of shade from trees and fixed canopies and the toilets and showers are very good. The staff are very professional and there is a bar and restaurant. Its main positive attribute is its location. It is just a few minutes walk to the sea with wonderful beaches and beautiful coastal walks in both directions. There are also numerous excellent walks through the countryside and hills surrounding the campsite. The immediate area is stunning and completely unspoilt. Don't be put off by the vast areas of unsightly plastic greenhouses before you enter the National Park. This is not the type of site we normally stay at but off-season and for just a few days stay it was great, mainly because of its location so close to the sea in the National Park.

This is an excellent site, very well-maintained, within the unspoilt landscape of the Cabo de Gata National Park. Pitches are gravelled and are of a very good size, separated by hedges, and with a variety of trees for shade. All pitches are covered by permanent sunshades but these don't cause any problems with access.
The orientation of the site means that all pitches on one side of the 'roads' are in sun, the opposite side in shade. So in winter - and this is a very popular site for over-wintering - the sunny pitches are in demand, and in summer I imagine it would be the other way round! Cabo de Gata is one of the driest areas in Europe and the summer heat must be pretty fierce.
There is one, large, central sanitation block, fully enclosed, very clean and well-equipped. Loos have seats and paper, washbasins have warm water, soap and hand-driers, showers are roomy and have controllable temperature, although they are push-button.
There is a large, semi-enclosed washing up and laundry area. Half of the sinks have warm water, the rest cold. Washing machines cost 3 euros.
There is a popular restaurant and bar. Set meals cost 9. 75 euros, but on Wednesdays it's only 6 euros! There is a shop but it's fairly limited. Fresh bread is available daily. As this is a fairly remote area it's about 25 km to the nearest big supermarket, but there's a small one in the picturesque little resort of San Jose, just 4 km away, along with a good selection of bars and restaurants.
There's a nice swimming pool, open in winter, but the water is a bit cold! There are some organised activities in winter - Spanish lessons, etc - and various sports facilities. Wifi is free and available throughout.
There is a lovely beach 10 minute's walk away, and many good walks and cycle rides in the area. The scenery is fantastic - volcanic, arid, with strangely-shaped rock formations along the coast.
A lovely site that we would be happy to return to. Camping Cheques accepted.
