Great little CL. Has everything we need, peace and quiet, water and EHU at each pitch each with a grey water drain as well. Facilities basic, i. E no loo or shower, but we always use our own.
Half way between Welshpool and Shrewsbury. Loads of great dog friendly pubs. Site is now well drained. Owner has obviously taken note of previous reviews and acted on them. Only issue, and nothing he can about it is the rather scary access road and the locals drive like idiots.

I can't really comment on pitching on this site as we didn't. We arrived having been away for 3 days to find that the owners had been trying to contact us to say that the site was unsurprisingly waterlogged, so we ended up on the driveway to the barn. The owner very kindly rigged us up an ehu connection and cwd in his garden(!) so we didn't have to walk on the grass.
The site itself has a tap and drain at each pitch, no loos or showers though.
The good points:
The owners are lovely and can't do enough for you.
The area is lovely, half way between Shrewsbury and Welshpool about a mile way from the Breidden Hills with many footpaths (although none from the site itself).
There are plenty of places to go; Welshpool is a nice small and typically Welsh town with a Tesco, Morrisions and Coed-y-Dinas garden, home and country centre, better known as Charlies. This has camping gear amongst many other things and a restaurant. The main car park in Welshpool accepts overnighting caravan and motorhomes for £5, there are public loos next to it but no ehu of course.
Shrewsbury needs no introduction, has a Park and Ride off the A49, Sainsbury's next to this and all the large town shops in the centre, lots of history, 2 garden centres and Salop Leisure for your caravan fix.
Montgomery is a tiny town with a huge town hall and a castle (free access) which is worth seeing for the impressive situation.
Llanymynech on the Oswestry road has the impressive Llanymynech Rocks nature reserve at a disused quarry.
Now the bad points:
The owner has gone to a lot of trouble, but we think that the site could have been better designed, the pitches are in a row, much too close together in our opinion. It would be better if the driveway had been extended into the site, some levelling done and hardstandings made. In spite of the pictures on the website which show the site as level, it isn't and the pitches have been shoe horned into the level area. Don't let this put you off though.
Also the CWD at the end of the site should have a handle on the heavy cover.
Access to the site itself is fine, ring the bell on the fence when you arrive. However, you have a mile of single track road from the A458 so pray you don't meet anything. Follow the signs to the golf club from the main road and the site is clearly signed on the right.
The price is a reasonable £12 per night with 10 amp ehu.

When we visited this site it was newly opened, the owners are friendly and extremely helpful. It is a very big field with nice views, but the pitches were quite close together, each having water and grey waste. The dog walk was around the field, but there were no other walks from off the site itself, which was quite disappointing. However, it is extremely well placed for exploring mid-Wales being 9 miles from Welshpool. At £12. 00 per pitch plus £1. 00 for the awning it was good value for a serviced pitch.
