Beautiful location and well placed to explore the Ribble Valley.
Facilities are basic but clean and great for what we needed.
Showers would have made it even better

The view, oh the view. The view over the valley is worth getting up to. This is listed as a hideaway site which sums it up. The pub at the top of the road (Ribchester Arms) is now shut. Bonus is there is an Aldi 4 miles away.
This is a quiet site with a minimum of hygiene facilities. The basic facilities are a male and female toilets with hot water in both.
The facilities are kept clean. Females touring as a group ought to bear in mind that the payment facilities are located in the gents if the site owners cannot be present on arrival (well they are farmers so they are busy). The site owners are more than willing to communicate by text and phone to guide the new visitors in, though once you have found it, you won't forget where it is.
There is electric hook up to some pitches and a variety of grass and hardstanding pitches. There is a fresh water tap and an elsan point. That's it for facilities. Children who love the countryside and nature will love this place, those who depend on an Xbox and Wifi won't. You open the gates to a sheep paddock when you enter, so please shut them behind you and follow the Country Code. Likewise when you get to the gate that separates the sheep field from the camp site, please remember to shut it so Shaun the Sheep does not pay a breakfast call.
The big bonus with this place is the fee (£11 a night for a tent with electric hook up) and the location, less than half an hour away from the bright lights and noise of Blackpool.
For a family who want to be able to sample the delights of the Pleasure Beach but come back to tranquility, this is the site for you.

The camp site is part of a larger complex of chalet type buildings containing rental units. There is a clean but basic portaloo building with clean toilets and a washbasin. This had an instant hot water heater which didn't really work. I got the impression the water pressure was too high for the heater to work.
The views are spectacular over the Ribble valley and up to Pendle Hill. No noise issues. Payment is by honesty box in the toilet. As all other transactions were done by phone email or text it's difficult to give a mark for customer service. Nothing to complain about, but don't expect someone to be there to show you round.
Only downsides are a lack of a shower (especially sweaty cyclists) and the other residents in caravans being shift workers who are up very early, but that's just a passing car at 06:00.
If you arrive by bike as we did from Ribchester you have two miles up hill finishing with a very steep hill at the end as the site entrance is right by the B6243. However, when you see the caravans there is a style into the site, so you might be able to carry a bike in at this point and save yourself that final push.
The Ribchester Arms provided a good evening meal.
