I stayed at Caroline's campsite over the August bank holiday weeekend, having booked quite last minute. Caroline was incredibly accommodating and we setup our 2-man tent in the large 2nd field, which we had pretty much to ourselves, with our own firepit.

The facilities at the campsite were a lovely surprise too - toilet, shower with good hot water and a small kitchen with fridge freezer.

We arrived by bike, and it was perfectly situated, remote countryside, but only a 15-minute cycle from Angmering train station, a 20 minute cycle to historic Arundel and 20-minute cycle to the beach at Littlehampton. And a 10 minute walk to a country pub with beer garden!

Not too many shops nearby, but there is a co-op in Angmering village, which is about a 7minute cycle away.

Would certainly recommend this campsite!

At the end of a 60 mile bike ride, somewhere to put up a tent and rinse off the road grime is pretty much all I need. I also needed directions on the phone as the GPS just wouldn't find it. The entrance is just 300m west of The Fox pub.

Although it is next to the A27, the constant drone tuned out quite quickly and in the evening it quietened down a lot. The field is lovely and peaceful and I felt safe to leave my gear there all day for the geocaching trail I had planned.

£8 is a bit steep for a 1 man tent especially as I had some trouble finding a flat pitch, but to get a shower pitch half a mile away was over double that.

The portaloo was clean and the tap water nice and cold. The nearby pub is excellent.

Decided to give Furze Field a go as it is not far from home for an overnight with our children, grandchild and dogs in tow. We have had some issues because we have a self build motor home and some sites don't want to accommodate us! but after a positive response from an e-mail my partner and I decided to try it on our own before bringing the brood.

The field it's self was lovely as you can see from the pictures. We were the only people there which was great. The owner was very helpful when we lost our way giving us directions on the phone.

Very basic just one (very clean) portaloo and a water tap which doesn't bother us as we are well equipped. It was lovely to be able to have a campfire and there are a couple of lovely pubs within easy walking distance along the road almost perfect. But for the traffic noise, it was quite noisy even down at the far end of the field away from the road. We have stayed on sites before when reviewers have warned about traffic noise and really not been bothered but there is no getting over the fact it is very near a motorway (although you can't see it, as I say a beautiful field!)

We also felt that eight pounds per person was a little expensive given how basic the site is, we assume it's the price you pay to be allowed a campfire which we do love, especially with children, it really does make the experience for them and for this reason we would return again if we don't find another site nearby that allows us to have a campfire.
