Sshhh. Don't tell anyone
We just got back from the perfect, idyllic, quiet, peaceful, restful sanctuary of the pod.
Definitely ditto the other reviews. Worth every penny. Lovely Family. Can't wait to go back.
The shower was wonderful, couldn't believe how hot it got. The views are stunning of the surrounding countryside, with several public footpaths all going in different directions.
Clare is a very pretty little town approx 5 miles away, with a very well stocked Co-op. The Country Park is well worth a visit too.

We visited mid April and had an absolutely fantastic weekend at this beautiful location and Log Pod. We will be definitely booking again and again. The weekend was perfect. I'm sort of reluctant like the last review to tell everyone how good it was as fear you will be getting booked up every weekend!
Exactly as stated. Communication was fantastic. Great value for money. Peaceful and idyllic. Amazing location and perfectly run. The fishing was great, we didn't catch anything but was excited enough by a few bites and the prospect of catching one of the large carps he saw swimming in the shallows. We were shocked at the very reasonable price and loved that the lake wasn't open to others.
We chickened out of the outdoor shower this time and used the shower up on the farm but will trial next time when weather is hopefully better.
We were welcomed in the local pubs and local area.
You should be really proud of the service and facility you offer.
From two very happy Glampers!

Wow what a find, we were lucky to be the very first visitors to this site and I am almost tempted not to write this review in case it gets too popular! We thought we were looking for the impossible, a quiet, secluded spot, near woods, water, and open countryside where we could have a campfire and take our dog and really feel away from it all. Normally we head to Scotland for such getaways but on this occasion it had to be within an afternoons drive from London and amazingly we discovered Stansfield just an hour away! and we didn't have to spend hours rummaging through the shed to find our tent as there was a lovely wooden Pod provided.
I have always been a bit sceptical of Glamping but this place has converted me. Waking up to the sound of ducks, geese and many other birds settling on the lake with a fantastic view of the lake and fields beyond from my sleeping bag inside the cosy pod, great.
Are there any cons I hear you ask, well as you can see we loved it but there are a few practical issues that I should mention. The Pod would be completely ideal for a couple, plenty of space to sleep and have all your stuff and shelter from any inclement weather that you may encounter. However we were a family of four and a dog. We coped, but it was a little cramped and when we go again will take a tent to pitch alongside for extra living/sleeping/storage space. There is plenty of space to pitch quite a few tents so a larger party could go and use the Pod as a day time venue for all. The toilet is in a tent nearby and perfectly adequate. The outside shower sounded lovely but I think we would all be more likely to use it in warmer weather. We were only there for three nights so the minimal washing facilities did not worry us and anyway it was all about being back to nature as much as possible but those of you who might wish for a shower under cover can be re-assured the owner is apparently setting up a deal with a nearby Inn to let campers use their washing facilities if they want.
Talking of nearby Inns, they kindly left maps for country walks through fields and woods to several nearby villages with pubs that do food, although these are opened sporadically during the week. However we spent our time round the fire, for warmth, atmosphere & cooking ; for those meat eaters amongst you they also provide a barbeque and sell pork from their own free range rare breed piggies and fresh Venison. The estate is sensitively managed and as such abounds with wildlife, badgers, hares, deer etc….
This is the first Pod on the site and I gather that they are planning a few more but each will be sited in its own secluded spot so no tripping over other campers if you don't want to.
We could not have been made more welcome, yet they did also leave us alone to enjoy the peace and quiet and family time that we were looking for. We wish them every success with the site and just hope it doesn’t get so popular that we cant get a booking when we next want to go.
Ps I have rated the site as child friendly but this is in consideration of a 11 and 14 year old who share our love of wild and remote places and were happy reading, walking, making bows and arrows etc. Those wanting playgrounds, lots of other children to play with or have toddlers who may fall in the lake may not agree with my rating.
Likewise with the facilities, they suited us fine and with the addition of the option to use the nearby pub facilities then for our purposes full marks; again others might want more straightforward washing facilities.
