We came for 3 nights and ended up staying for 13 at this very pleasant site.
It has a large pool and a smaller shallower pool for smaller children, both heated. There are no sunbeds, just a long low continuous stone seat, but you can take your own chairs or lilos to lie on, or lie on the grass behind the benching. Every day there is a very well well attended aqua gym with a very friendly and enthusiastic coach.
There is a bar beside the pool that sells drinks and icecream and what looked like very reasonable meals, and where they have some entertainment, including a paella night with music. There is a disco at the bar on Mondays but it isn't noisy and it stops at 11pm. There is also a small takeaway shack at the site entrance which does frites and pizzas. There is a small shop for ordering bread and croissants etc, which sells a few other bits and pieces as well as chilled wine and cans. On Sunday mornings a man comes with a van to sell fabulous fruit and veg at the shop.
There are two sanitaires, both with loos with loo paper!, and adjustable showers, wash basin rooms, washing up and laundry sinks. These are all reasonably clean for such a huge and very busy site. There is a laundry room with only two machines - not so good on such a big site and there is a washing line area near the older sanitaires.
It has: a tennis court, boules pitch, crazy golf, swings, games room and a children's adventure circuit. There is also a children's club, I think.
It has no river, but it is close to the Gard river, where we spent many a happy afternoon swimming, and one lovely day canoeing to the Pont du Gard aqueduct. Not to be missed.
The nearest town is a 5 minute drive - or a short cycle ride away - where there is a lovely boulangerie, a small carrefour and more pottery shops than I have ever seen in my life!
It is also near the beautiful town of Uzes, but be warned - when we arrived Uzes was having a major festival, and was almost constantly gridlocked! The number of times we gave up and turned back, usually going to Collias (to the river) via St Siffret instead.
The thing I liked most about the site was how quiet it was at night - hardly a sound - except from the night concerts in Uzes during the festival. It is a site that people go back to. There are some British families who have been going back for 31 years, and even 37 years for some couples. They return with children and now their children are returning with their children.
The thing I didn't like was that they charge extra for pup tents, which I didn't realise at first. On most sites I've stayed on you pay for the pitch and the people, but not for pup tents. My two kids - 17 and 20 - don't sleep in the van so it cost us a lot more than I had thought it would. But having said that, I would most definitely use this site again if we were to return to the area.
