a brilliant site and will be going again.nice and relaxed with no over-regulation and open-ended pitches. excellent shop and first-rate facilities

We turned up at this site on the 18th april,after our friends found it (everywhere was fully booked and no one bothered to book in advance)!
Apparently it is a disused airfield. There is a play area for kids, a small potacabin shop (didn't use either)showers and toilets, which weren't the best, but okay!
We probably would've had a great time at this site, but the weather was awful! It was really windy and the wind howled across the field, we came back to our tents saturday night and our guideropes had snapped! And 2 of our friends tents had blown away! Luckily a very kind lady stepped in and chased them down the field!
There is no order at this site, you pitch where you want to, so there were tents everywhere!and it was quite packed. When we got up on the sunday morning loads of people had left, probably due to the wind, so did we!
You definately need a car for this site, there is a great harvester down the road and we drove out the site and ended up in the new forest!
There are trees round the site, but we were slap bang in the middle and we took the brunt of the wind, which was quite frightening!
Loads of lovely places to visit all round,if you just want a quiet camp to rest your head then heres the place for you, only don't go on windy days!
