We stayed here for 7 nights in July 2012. What a lovely, friendly, easy going site.
My teens appreciated the wifi at the restaurant area, they liked the whiff-whaff table, the tennis court could do with being relaid its just about playable.
Lovely terraced grassy areas above the river for sitting out to watch everyone kayaking down the river towards the main attraction of Pont d'Arc. The river is ideal for a cooling dip, there are a lot of slippery rocks though so reef runners were essential for a semi-graceful entrance/departure.
The campsite has several riverside pitches with three tarmac roads leading back towards the site entrance where all the organised entertainment, pool, tennis and basketball courts are, although we didn't join in with the singing and dancing evenings everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves with something different going on each night. That's not our cup of tea at all and I was very glad that we were pitched near the river end. It was loud but finished at a tidy time to allow everyone a peaceful sleep.
We did eat in the site restaurant and found it very reasonably priced, good quality with pleasant service from the staff.
The toilet/shower blocks were an experience for us although cleaned frequently throughout the day none of the toilets had seats, not having camped in France before I wasn't prepared for this shock and have no idea if this is the norm, anyway we made do. The showers that I used had no showerheads and the pressure took my breath away at first, the cubicles could do with being a bit bigger too, I forgave everything though cos there was always lashings of hot water and they were usually very clean no matter what time of day I used them.
Halfway through our stay my hubby discovered Nirvana, there was a newer shower block closer to the pool, this had bigger cubicles with sinks, hairdryers and mirrors all in and posher tiles on the walls, plus the only water to touch your feet was your own. Heaven. Obviously, every time I wanted to use the facilities there was a massive queue so I stuck with the pressure-washer block seeing as it was closer to our pitch and although it was in constant use I never had to queue. Bliss.
The washing up areas on our block were eight ceramic sinks with drainers, there was a slopbox for leftover scraps of food and always masses of hot water on a push tap. I never had to wait to use these facilities.
Lots of water points within easy reach for everyone, again a push tap.
The pitches themselves were all flat and all had shade from trees at least at some point through the day. I took a walk around the campsite often to stretch my dog's legs and discovered that some pitches were more squashed together (near the pool) which would not have fitted my not-so-small car and trailer, would be ok for smaller set ups.
We all had a lovely, relaxing time eating out in the town most evenings, exploring the surrounding villages/towns, lazing by the tent and swimming in the river, it must have been quite nice cos my hubby wasn't keen on going camping but even he admitted that the site and area had won him over to the extent that he wants to go back next year.
