Great little campsite in a woodland setting. We stayed for 2 nights in a four man tent. The owner Alan is very helpful but not obtrusive. Plenty of free firewood to collect for camp fires. There are quite a few cats around one made friends with us as I was feeding him dreamies! However I did not find them a nuisance at all. Also lovely Shetland ponies here. A great place for older kids. Alan said campsite was busy when we were there. 5 tents lol, with plenty of space between pitches. There is a communal firepit as well as your own. A good place to hire out if you are in a large group I imagine. One compost toilet on site with loo roll and clean. The only downside of this place is the walk up the hill with gear, wheelbarrows provided at bottom car park as are water cans. I bought quite a lot of gear, you might want to downsize because of hill, but once you've set up. Fine. However the previous reviewer did have help of a trailer. Woodlands surrounding the site are beautiful and vast. A great experience and not too expensive 8 per night per person.

Stayed for 1 night on the 29th June with a friend and my son (15) whilst walking in the area. After struggling to find the entrance (as the sign had been removed) we received a friendly welcome from the owner who helped transport our kit to the pitch and brought us plenty of fresh water in containers.
I have marked facilities as 10/10 as the facilities are basic but clearly communicated which gives the place its charm. Flat pitches, fresh water delivered daily and a composting toilet. I did not count the number of pitches but they were well placed in the forest and flat. In front of our pitch was a makeshift bench and log ends for stools as a campfire area. Firewood is plentiful and campfires are welcome.
Location 10/10 as well placed directly off cycle route 8 and close to the A470 for Brecon and other areas. A bus service runs from the nearby village of Felinfach if you want to bus out and walk back as we did.
Customer service as 10/10 for the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner on booking, arrival and departure.
Child Friendliness as 5/10 is personal opinion as I think the basic facilities are more suitable for older children.
The only downside to the site is the site cats who were a nuisance throughout. In your food whilst cooking (causing food wastage), crawling under the tent flap and rummaging through the tent porch contents throughout the night (woke us up several times) and even under feet when heading out to the loo in the dark.
