There is a lack of 5 van sites in the Braintree area of Essex which is a shame as the area has lots to offer. The last review for this site was 2015 and I fear that it has been let go since then.

It is difficult to find as the Tennis Club signs are obscured by trees. Access is via a heavy metal gate with a padlock which is fiddly to open especially in the dark.

There is electric hook up but we had to clean the socket to use it. The water tap is surrounded by weeds as is the elsan point. We discovered some waste water drains but they were blocked by soil and leaves.

The toilet in the club house needed a good clean and there was no hot water so we didn't use it.

Locals use it as a dog walk so there was lots of dog poo!

It could be a good earner for the tennis club with some tlc but at £20 a night we won't go back.

Great little site with facilities. Lovely quiet site ideal for touring the Essex and Suffolk borders. Good clean facilities and a welcoming warden. Ideal for people who like a quiet place to relax. Its not so far from where we live but gave an opportunity to explore those places that we all forget about; the ones close to home. We intend to go back and spend some more time there again soon.
