Only 5 minutes at the most from junction 17 of the M4 this is an ideal site if you need a rest overnight or want to explore the local area.
We met the farmer who runs the site, friendly and helpful but he is often not around as he has hundreds of cows to look after!
Being so handy for the motorway you can hear the traffic but it didn't disturb us at all.
The site is entirely hardcore with plenty of room for the largest motorhomes. We could only stay one night this time but will stay longer next time as there is plenty to do in the area.

This site is exactly as described and is perfect for an overnight stop while travelling the M4.
Secure, quiet and cheap. Water, waste and beautiful walks are the onlty facilities but what more do you weant for an overnighter. Contacted Nigel, the owner, by e-mail who gave me all the guidance needed and money left in honesty box.

This is a very basic site about a mile and a half from Junction 14 on the M4. It consists of a hardcore parking area with plenty of room to manoeuvre. It has fresh water, dustbins and plenty of space around for walking dogs. You need to pay attention when looking for the entrance as I didn't spot it until I was going past.
I never met the owner but had quick and friendly communication by e-mail and phone. I left payment in the honesty box.
We happened to be going to a wedding in a nearby village, but if you were using the M4 and wanted to spend a night, but not in a Services, then this is nicely in between Leigh Delamare and Membury. Plenty of villages and facilities within a couple of miles and Chippenham is only 4 or 5 miles away.
In summary, if you need to rest a night when going east or west on the M4, especially with dogs needing a run, then this is a very useful site to know.

This site is so handy for stopover for M4 Junction 17. There is noise from the motorway however. To make up for this, there are lovely rural views.
Good for taking dog for walk. Have spotted deer, and hares. Surrounding area has wooded areas for walk.
Local pub for meals within a couple of miles. WC/waste emptying, rubbish bins. Hardcore pitching. Have been there at various times of the year.
No facilities other than those mentioned.
