2nd time we have been here, it's now £12 a night and we stayed 8 nights. Still really peaceful. Only pitch left was right at the end of the field which is quieter and we needed 2 electric leads. Luckily we always carry a spare though another couple offered us theirs. If you don't want to drive the buses are very regular and stop just outside the site. No one comes to collect fees so when the farmer takes his dog for a walk you need to catch him. Will keep using this site as its a great location. If you want all the bells and whistles then it's not for you and nothing for the kids to do but run around but that's what you want kids yo do.

This is a small farm site, very tidy, water sluice no other facilities. If you leave the A12 into Stirrups lane it is a narrow road but easier than trying to come through Corton. Follow the road just before the Church the site is on the right, wide entrance. Dog lovers, plenty of walks, go to the far corner of the field follow the trees to the opening. Only down side we found was that you need to be 2 vehicle lengths in front of hook up to get sat TVs signal. White horse pub did good meals, dogs allowed in conservatory. Next door is a fish and chip shop, we didn't use it. Warmers leisure have a shop and do newspapers. If you go the other way to Hopton there is a Mace grocery. Or not too far to big supermarkets. The road nor the church bells bothered us.

We liked this site and can only echo previous comments, easy to get to everywhere and easy enough to find if you come the right way as per the C&CC book/website. Even with a car, the first turn (coming from the south) off the A12 is tight. The church clock seems to chime 18 times at 10 to the hour! I assume there must be a strange reason for this.

For dog walking, go across the field to a gap in the trees and from here there are various circular walks. The smell as already described is worse at this far corner of the field but disperses once you are on a footpath.

Try not to come through Great Yarmouth if you can help it, a nightmare in the summer holidays.

We had to pull the caravan forward to get a Sky tv signal, not a problem as there is plenty of room, but somewhat annoying as we were not told of this problem despite enquiring.

Nice little site in between Yarmouth and Lowestoft with a good bus service though we didn't use it. Church across the road has electric chimes which chime 18 at odd times during the day. Don't pitch in the first one by the road as its where the sluice is. Basic site but its what we like and at £10 a night what's to complain about. Supermarkets few minutes by car as is Toby, Harvester and Beef Eater. Had fish n chips from place down near the large caravan at Hopton but fish was terrible and I had a bad stomach after it. Nothing for kids to do except play in the open air. Was ambit smelly due to wiffs coming from sewage site but that seemed to be the same between Caister and Lowestoft. Will visit here again in the future. Didn't meet the owners so cannot comment though saw the farmer talking his dog for a walk tied to the back of his small tractor.

Wife & I spent the weekend at the above and lovely it was too. Especially being less than an hour away from home.

Electric and the two of us, just 20 quid for the weekend. Arrived at 1-ish on Friday and didn't leave until gone 4 this afternoon (Sunday).

Just a wonderful relaxing weekend on our own, (although next time we will take the dog as well) with some lovely walks from the site.

On arrival I walked to the farmhouse which is adjacent to the site, introduced myself and paid my dues and that was it. Sluice was nice and clean as was freshwater area which are on a corner of the site, along with several recycling bins, if you are into that.

That's all there was there - fantastic!

I'm not one for fussing about noise as not everyone can be on R&R at the same time, however I was surprised just how busy the little road between Corton and Hopton was that ran past the site, with double-decker buses every 15 minutes in both directions. Add to that the fact that everyone on those buses must then have jumped on their motorbike and gone back in the other direction meant it was somewhat noisier than I expected. But the weirdest thing had to be the bell of Corton church (right opposite) which wasn't happy unless it struck 18, usually at a completely random times of day!

However I will be going again as it is ideal for us for an easy getaway.

Lowestoft is only a couple of miles S with plenty of shops and supermarkets (nearest is a Tesco near Pleasurewood Hills)). You can actually see the tops of two of the rides at the Pleasurewood Hills theme park in the other direction you have Gorleston and Gt Yarmouth and a short run to the Broads.

Finally there is plenty of room to get in and out of the site with a big 'van as the gate is well set out in relation to the road, but do follow the site owners advice and come in from the Hopton roundabout off the A12. Corton has a narrow bit by the pub and there are always cars parked will-nilly making it difficult to get through. Stirrups Lane looks an easy route but trust me, it isn't! You have to cross the A12 dual carriageway if you ry to go in that way and the road is really uneven. Coming out that way, there is no slip road just a T-Junction. Don't bother, just go with the supplied directions.

We came across this site after finding that Azure Seas no longer offered camping. What a delight it was. It is a small site with a level grass field with hookup points available on a working farm. The disposal services are just off the field on were well organised and clean.

The village, with shops, Pubs and takeaway services is a short walk away and there is access to the beach although the sandy bits are somewhat further.

The farmer and his wife were very friendly and accommodating even though we arrived unannounced. Highly recommended.

Lovely and spacious peaceful site of level and well maintained grass. The waste disposal area, water and rubbish areas were neatly organised and clean and tidy.

Good for accessing Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth and just on the outskirts of the village in which there is a shop, pub and a Chinese take away. We enjoyed the walks in and around the village as well as accessing the numerous cycle ways that were in the vicinity.

Would highly recommend this CL site.
