A lovely quiet site just over the French/Spanish border. At the base of the 'Col' which is a duty free shopping area. Close to the scenic Rune train and seaside towns. Easy access to area and much quieter than the busier seaside campsites. Spent a week there and did something different each day and never had to travel more than 1 hour from site. Spectacular scenery, a trip up the Col to the ventas (duty free area) is a must, travel up one side and back down the other into Spain the circular route rakes in spectacular scenery and almost Alpine type mountains and houses One and a half hours from the Bilbao ferry this site is a good stopping point en route through France.
A quiet site with lovely pool and terrace cafe. Pitches are mostly in partial shade many are more suited to caper or caravans as completely flat level pitches are limited and quite small if your tent is large. Lots of surrounding woodland which makes it a haven for wildlife, the basque sheep and horse all have right of way and wear bells to let you know where they are. Obviously the site has ditches and fences to stop them wandering through your pitch. Small children's playground and splash pool. A tranquil site perhaps not geared towards older children.
The site is in two parts the lower part being letting caravans and eco tents (this is far from a large commercial development)
Free wifi around reception area and pool. Would recommend.
We traveled 1st week in June and because of the mountains had damp mornings and very hot afternoons. Be careful to stay in the left hand lane on leaving the ferry and joining the motorway or you will end up in Bilbao town centre.
