We spent 3 lovely nights at Witheridge Farm Adults Only CL.
This is an immaculately kept 5 pitch site which is owned by Mik and Jen. There are 3 hard standing pitches and 2 grass ones. There is hook up, water and black waste on site and all pitches have their own picnic bench.
We were met on arrival by Mik who gave us both walking and cycling maps along with recommendations of where to eat locally and places to visit.
Mik and Jen are very obviously proud of their site and the area and want you to get the most out of your stay.
There is very easy access to The Strawberry Line cycling and walking trail, you literally go out of their front gate, cross the road and it is a couple of hundred yards up a quiet service lane. This trail takes you from Cheddar through Axbridge and Sandford to Yatton, about a 20 mile round trip. The trail has an excellent cycling surface and is mainly off road, you will have to cycle through a short section of road in Cheddar and near Sandford, there are also several roads to cross along the trail.
This is a lovely cycle route and you can visit the Railway Inn at Sandford which is owned by Thatchers Cider or visit the Strawberry Line Café at Yatton Station where they serve freshly made rolls and home made cakes.
During our stay we also did one of the walks Mik provided. This took us from the site along tracks and fields up onto The Mendip Way where there were tremendous views to Glastonbury Tor in one direction and across the Bristol Channel to Wales in the other.
The descent brought us down via Cheddar Gorge and Jacob’s Ladder, a 274 flight of steps into the village, this walk was approximately 4 miles and not for the faint of heart, it is very steep and rocky in places.
Mik also provided a less strenuous walk which takes you around Cheddar Reservoir but we did not have time to do this, hopefully next time.
There is a bit of road noise from the adjacent road but this did not make our stay any less enjoyable.

This lovely CL is very conveniently located, just a short walk to Cheddar and a quiet footpath to the wonderful Gorge.
Mick the owner provided plenty of helpful information about the area, including the NCN Route 26 'Strawberry Line' cycle trail to Yatton. His tips about the numerous local pubs came in handy.
The Cheddar Ales brewery 'tap room' and shop are a must for real ale fans. And we can certainly recommend the great value for money 'pie and mash' in The Kings Head (check website for opening hours).
Both Sainsbury's and Tesco nearby. Traffic on the surprisingly busy A371 road was occasionally noisy but not at night.

Lovely CL, clean & looked after very well, friendly & helpful host.
3 nights spent here in July, good location for Cheddar & the Gorge & other sights ie Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor, Wookey Hole & more.
The only downside (hence 4 star marking instead of 5) is the road noise - main road & very busy but would still return for 2/3 night stay.

Impeccably well-kept site, with friendly and helpful owners who provide a 'welcome-leaflet' with details of eateries, shops, walks, and other facilities.
It's on a busy road on the edge of Cheddar, but it was easy to cross via the owners backyard which took us straight to the river and footbridge into the town.
It's a short walk to the gorge, walks over the Mendips, and a good choice of pubs.

We stayed at Witheridge Farm for 6 nights in June 2019 as a base to explore the Cheddar area & undertake the Wild Wookey caving experience!
We have little to add to other site reviews and Mick & Jen were usually on hand to have a chat & give advice etc. They have a handout detailing the site facilities etc. & this included a footpath & lane route to access the south side of Cheddar Gorge. It is well worth using this to avoid the busy A371 outside the site.
If access to Cheddar village itself is required, it is easiest to cross the main road & go past the C & MC main site opposite and walk along the disused railway line [Strawberry Line]. This is also the route to visit the Cheddar Reservoir for a less demanding walk.
In summary, the site is everything a CL should be with a few hardstandings for us motorhomers combined with a water supply, CDP & EHU. £16 per night was just about right.

Easy to access from main road opposite football ground at Cheddar. Very good welcome and info handout. Good water and chemical disposal but no rubbish disposal arranged. Easy to walk to village/shops/pubs - best via back road as sharp bend on main road.
Regular buses to Wells and Weston nearby. Excellent access to 10 mile cycle trail Strawberry Line. 10 minute walk to bottom of Cheddar Gorge. Excellent position and very helpful. Will definitely stay again.

We used this site for a one night stop-over on our way down to Devon. A nice, basic but handy little site, just across the road from the Caravan Clubs' 'main' site. The lady who owns it, was very friendly and welcoming, giving us a very helpful info' sheet on arrival(. This included directions to various places to eat and drink etc)
You do have to be careful when exiting the site(either in vehicle or on foot)because the gateway is unsighted due to the bend in the road.
At the time of our visit, I suppose some would've deemed the site a bit 'spartan'. Water was from an 'outside tap' on the rear wall of the cottage and 'waste water' was disposed of by lifting their main hole cover. Also the hard standing pitches(where they placed the MHs)had no hook-ups.
However, none of these things bothered us at all. We were told that they were going to be having some extensive works carried out to improve things, so it may well have changed since we've been. Although I do hope it doesn't become yet another CL which, gets 'improved'(spoilt!)and because of the money spent on it, ends up with the owner having to charge only a couple of quid less than a 'full-on' site does anyway!?(Our non-ehu, hardsatnding pitch, in August, only cost £7!)
We're certainly looking at using it again when we visit Cheddar.
