Stayed at Castlethorpe Carr Lodge for 1 night as we were going quad biking at nearby Elsham. It's a small sheltered level site which is situated in the owner’s garden.

There is a toilet and shower which are located in a converted barn. They are basic but do the job. There is information on the local area on a wall in the barn and the owners are happy to answer any queries.

The site is off the main road, near the end of a farm track and is surrounded by fields. Form the site; it is a short walk to the banks of the River Ancholme, where you can follow the footpath directly into Brigg.

There are fishing platforms along the river but a day ticket may need to be purchased locally.

There are a good selection of shops / pubs / restaurants in Broughton and Brigg. There is a large Tesco’s supermarket / petrol station in Brigg if you need to stock up with supplies. There is also a leisure centre in Brigg which has a swimming pool and sauna which is useful if it's a rainy day.

Great price of £10 a night for 2 adults, 1 dog with Ehu and we would happily return to this site again.
