This site is beautiful, views of the lake or the surrounding forest from every pitch & hedges between pitches for privacy.
A new swimming pool to cool off in and a terrace to enjoy snacks and drinks and a few evenings a week fantastic home cooking, such as delicious pizza, homemade burgers, BBQ etc.
Hosts Berber & Marcel speak Dutch, French and English fluently and are always available to help you with whatever they can to ensure your stay is a great one.
The facilities are spotlessly clean.
It is possible to have peace and quiet or a more sociable visit on this site, really, it has it all.

Site is situated adjacent to a reservoir, access to the water is a good 20 min walk away where there are seats etc.
Pitches flat but on tiers, there is no TV/sat coverage, no phone signal on the pitches, you can get a signal at the top of the hill at the site entrance.
Owners are English and very pleasant. On site shop has wine, milk, eggs and bread can be ordered from the owner. Site is a good distance from Felletin, but would be within cycling distance and is very tight for large motor homes.
If approaching from the north, stay on the main route until within site of Felletin, DO NOT follow sat/nav instruction to turn onto lanes near quarry across railway!
Facilities are new and very pleasant(2 x ladies showers, 2 x ladies toilets, 2 x gents showers, 2 x gents toilets, doors to facilities open directly onto the site.

Excellent refurbished and very peaceful camp-site run by a British couple. Set in woodland bordering the Barrage des Coombes a 50 hectare lake. The area was terraced and the good size pitches separated by trees and greenery, some shady areas. The excellant toilet/shower/laundry facilities built in the English style were very clean. Fishing available in the lake(with permit) there were also some picnic tables at the view point.
The reception on the way in had basic provisions available and one could order bread. The owners were very welcoming and saw to all our needs throughout our 4 day stay.
We would most definitely stay again.

We’ve just returned from France and on our travels in appalling weather found this wonderful camp site.
It’s one of the loveliest sites we’ve pitched-up on in several years of travelling in France. It’s owned and personally run by a couple of very friendly and helpful Brits who seem to understand the business.
The site itself is not large but pitches are more than generous in size, most of them being marked out naturally by lopped pine trees allowing plenty of sun to reach campers. Pitches are on level grassy terraces leading down a hillside giving access to the banks of a substantial lake formed by the damming of the River Creuse. If we’d had our own canoes we could have paddled into the sunset (if it hadn’t been raining). And we were told the fishing here is excellent.
We arrived during a period of heavy rains and found the ground perfectly firm enough for any motor home. Don’t be put off by the owners requesting motor homes over 6 metres to contact them in advance. The camp site is easily accessible by much larger units, especially from Felletin in the south, and its pitches can accommodate even large RVs and long caravans.
The camping environment is rural perfection. It’s a great balance between camping needs (tidiness, cleanliness and good grounds maintenance) and nature’s natural bits. This part of the Creuse Valley is forestry, hillside and water – and somehow the campsite has managed to incorporate these features without detracting from what most campers demand of a campsite when on holiday. Wildlife is encouraged – we heard and saw green woodpeckers, nuthatch and cuckoos to name but three.
All toilets and showers have recently been refurbished and were spotless. For those used to the British way, the toilets not only have seats, but also toilet roll, hand towels and liquid soap. It was like coming home, even to the hot water out of the taps. And of course all other facilities we Brits expect were available, such as ample amperage on the hook-ups (continental style) and baguettes to order.
Felletin nearby is a small town of typical French character, with markets and interesting shops. And the countryside around is spectacular.
We loved this site and will definitely be returning next time we’re in the area.
