Amazingly very quiet mid July…. No other campers or caravans…. Only have 3 of the van pitches (one without electric) so we had the paddock to ourselves…. Wonderful.
Very peaceful. Turn into paddock is a bit tight and sloped. The gate is padlocked, they sms the combination which is a bit stiff. The gate has to be dragged open.
The sea wall blocks the view of the marshes/estuary from the site and it's tricky to get up the bank…. Everywhere was very overgrown. We had a problem with our water system and the office was extremely accommodating.
The office is not on on site and phone signal/internet is intermittent, so it was quite tricky and slow to communicate. Book at least a couple of days before. Charge is very reasonable at £20….
There are showers/WC only for the tents (3 pitches) in a very quaint converted horse trailer. The pods are nearby and the firelighter smell when lighting their hot tubs is a bit pungent.
Not advisable to have windows open! Point clear is an interesting hamlet with free carparking right on the estuary, and potholes!
Housing varies from shacks to modern properties with amazing views & there's a foot ferry over the river colne to brightlingsea and east mersea.
It would have scored 10/10 if there was water point in the field and showers but at £20 a night it was very reasonable. Don't expect WiFi or mobile signal.

Stayed four nights two if which were without hook up. Lovely cl site just three pitches.
Great location for walks and dog friendly. Good value, pitches were huge !

Bad entrance to site for twin axle
Pods next to caravans, noisy, caravan stunk of their log burners.
No reception on contact at all, really odd
One van used mover to get in the entrance
Grass not cut
Went home early

Quiet little site. Nice walk to the coast. No bins near camp field but left comment on website for owner, (did not see owner during our stay) to this effect and she said she would put this right.
Camping pods with decking, barbecues etc, very near site, but no-one renting them when we were there.
