Selected this site as we wanted a few days on the Belgian coast to explore beaches, towns, war graves and the famous coastal tram line. The site is easy walking distance to the nearest tram stop, though the nearest ticket office is a bit further. You can buy a ticke from the tram driver but it's mre expensive. It's a bit of a walk into town, but certainly maneagable.
There was no English on the campsite's website but having emailed 2 sites nearby already and found them fully booked I emailed them in English and was relieved to receive a reply the following day to say we had a place. Even though we were there at the very end of July (so presumably peak time) the tiny site was never more than 1/4 full. The large static caravans/chalets in the separate main area of the site hardly seemed occupied either, and the large bar/tearoom wasn't in use. A few children were around and they played reservedly on the well maintained play equipment.
This was the tidiest campsite I have ever stayed on. If I could get my lawn to the quality of their grass I'd be a very happy woman! The pitches were very smooth and level with a concrete hard standing for the van with the immaculate grass next to it. The pitches aren't large but are big enough. They're even particular which way you park your van to protect the privacy of anyone next to you (though given how quiet they were this didn't look as though it would be a problem). Reception was only open for an hour in the evening, so access is via a pushbutton on the entrance barrier - the chap who seems to be in charge of site maintenance then comes and shows you to your pitch and if necessary helps move you van into position.
The facilities were absolutely spotless (though no loo paper as is usual in Europe). The touring section had their own small toilet block on the lawn designated for tents - handy if you need to make a dash during the night. These facilities had no hot water; for this you had to walk a little way to the chalets and the main facilities. Showers were €1. 50 for 6 minutes (with 2 minutes grace to get in). This was a bit of an inconvenience but meant the chalet residents on the whole prefered to use their own showers rather than these. There were also separate washbasin cubicles and toilets here. Also a little way from the touring area were the spotless washing up and laundry areas.
At €30 a night this site isn't cheap, but then. It didn't feel it! Maybe the pitches are a little small but all in all a smashing little site, and one I'd happily return to.

Well situated on cycle trail, near town centre, easy to get to Brugges (22km by bike). Very, very tidy and well maintained site. We weren't allowed to use our awning for our 3 night stay as it had a built in groundsheet. Excellent showers and washrooms although a little way from the main camping area. Really nice modern fittings; e. G. Light sensitive taps. Nice and flat. Good dishwashing and laundry area
Very quiet.

We spent 3 nights at the camp-site. The person we saw spoke good English and explained everything to us. He took us to our pitch and helped us position the caravan. Very helpful.
Hard standing with water, electricity and waste water disposal on pitch.
Very neat and tidy, but the pitch we had was right next to the children's playground, which was not used when we were there, but I imagine it would be very noisy in the summer season and adjacent to the bar/bistro. If you want peace and quiet then request a pitch further in. The grass was fairly long when we were there as the weather had been very wet prior to our visit. There are a large number of holiday homes on the site that will make it very lively in the high season and school holidays.
Toilets etc very clean, but as is usual on the continent, no toilet paper or soap.
Ideal location for a visit to Brugge, about 10km away and a very easy drive. De Haan is a lovely little town with pleanty of nice cafes etc, an Aldi supermarket fairly near, but if you go into the town there is a nice supermarket on the right before you get to the tram station. Takes a bit of finding as its entrance and exit are sperated by another shop and you can easily walk past. (hope that makes sense!)
We took the tram to Ostende, cost us 3 eruos each, one way, if you get your ticket at the station it is 2 euros each way, the station in De Haan was closed on our visit.
Use your ACSI card for an out of season discount- well worth it.
Would recommend if you are visiting Brugge.
There are a lot of road works and diversions at the present, so be aware if you are visiting in 2012.
