This is a friendly naturist site, run by the members. There are no hook-ups but electricity is provided to the shower blocks, clubhouse, and there is some external lighting. There is a facility to charge batteries. The site has seventy pitches, and an area for tents. It’s in a lovely setting between Knaresborough and Harrogate.

It has permanent pitches (some vacancies) and takes day members, plus visitors with tents or caravans (and some campervans) by arrangement. Permanent pitches are set around the perimeter of the site, and are spacious.

Touring pitches are on the level area at the top of the site, and there are some hardstandings. We have a permanent pitch there and can use the van at any time during the season.

There are two toilet blocks, one of a very high standard, with ladies and gents toilets, a communal shower room, a private shower in the ladies, and disabled facilities. In the same building there is a visitors’ kitchen, with a sink, oven and hob, so those with tents can cook in comfort.

There is a bright modern, nicely furnished clubhouse and bar, (with electricity) with an outside seating area, a large screen TV, and a small library. A variety of events are organised during the season. There is a large kitchen and meals are made by members and offered at weekends and other times. Inter-club visits and tournaments take place in the summer.

There is a boules court, two miniten courts, and a pitch and putt court. At the bottom of the site is a sunbathing terrace.

The site is on the outskirts of Harrogate, near to a cycle route/walk into Knaresborough or Ripley. There are walks directly from the site and the Nidd Gorge runs through woodland adjacent to the bottom of the site. There is a good pub nearby (no food) and some local shops, plus a few farms selling free range eggs. Within a short drive (or cycle ride) of the site is Starbeck station, with access to links to Leeds, York and further afield. The Yorkshire Dales are on the doorstep and the Yorkshire coast a couple of hours away.

Loads of opportunities for sight-seeing, and also a handy stopover (by arrangement), near to the A1 for naturists heading north or south! There have been a few international visitors, mainly from Holland, and the site is also close to events at Ripley Castle (such as the annual Classic Car shows held there)or for the Harrogate Conference Centre, Flower Show, or Great Yorkshire Show.
