A really lovely site, now with new shower and WC block. The host Gary couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.
Very safe cycle route into Dorchester via the National Cycle Route 26. Site is alongside busy A37, but the individual pitches are far enough away not to impact on enjoyment.
Will definitely visit again.

This was our second visit here.
A cl for adults only
We were here the same time last year and loved it.
There is road noise but it was fine and nothing to keep us awake at night. This is a well kept site with grass kept short like a carpet.
. We did have rain this year yet the ground drained very well so we didn't have any problems. The little stream at the back of the site is a haven for birds. Also rabbits running around and moles popping their heads up. I saw an egret in the stream one morning. Also I think a stoat.
There is a toilet and shower. An added bonus.
Just a few miles from dorchester. We parked here and went in to weymouth and poole by train due to having concessions. Although it is very easy to park in Weymouth. Some of the places we visited were poole, Brownsea, Portland, and abbotsbury, also cerne abbas.
Their are busses from outside of the site but they are not frequent.
This is also a b&b.
A lovely central location with easy access.
Dorchester has a popular market and many places to eat. Also there is a pub about a mile along the road from the site, We didn't use this this time,
There is no tv signal from this site, we took lots of DVDs with us, but others had satilite.

A lovely site handy for touring the Dorchester area. A bit of road noise, but nothing you can't sleep through. The toilet/shower facilities were lovely and clean, and included in the cost of the pitch. Sensibly this is an adults only site. The Royal Yeoman is an ex-pub that's been converted into a B&B business, and the toilet facilities are on the other side of the B&B to the site - you have to walk along the side of the property next to the busy road.
As the business has a large carpark (left over from when it was a pub), you're asked to tow your van to your pitch and then leave your car in the carpark after that. We considered this very sensible as it prevents the grass being damaged, and gives you more room by your van.

Our first visit to this excellent little site but probably not our last! Well laid out and well run by hard-working Sue and Gary and providing above standard facilities for a CL On our first night we dined in the B&B on Scampi and chips: extraordinarily generous portions, freshly cooked for a very reasonable price. (They don't cook at weekends).
The site is on a busy road but is well set back and we were not bothered by road-noise at all.
This is an ideal site from which to tour either the surrounding countryside which is beautiful, or the coast is not too far away.

We have just had a delightful 2 week stay at the Royal Yeoman. From the time we arrived the owners could not have been more helpful, which was greatly appreciated as this was our first ever Caravanning experience.
The toilet & shower facilities were always very clean & tidy. The site is very well kept and the distances between pitches is very generous. Site is very well positioned to explore the surrounding area/coastline.
Just a mile from the site is the Saxon Inn, which is a very lovely village pub with good atmosphere and an extensive menu. As mentioned previously the Royal Yeoman also runs an excellent B&B, which the owners were only to happy to show us around, an excellent addition if friends/family wanted to come and visit you if not caravanners.
We would definitely recommend this site to anyone visiting this area.

This is a really nice CL site, with the added bonus of a very clean modern shower and loo. We received a warm welcome from the site owner, who also runs a very good bed and breakfast which is ideal if you have family or friends with you who are not caravanners. The site is all grass, and quite level and well drained. The only down side is the very busy road adjacent, which is the main road into Dorchester. However, a small price to pay for a decent CL site.
