Just returned from 4 night stay in one of the yurts at Wild Northumbrian and loved it! It was a very cold weekend but once we got the hang of lighting a fire in the log burner it was very cosy.

We enjoyed being woken up each morning by the woodpeckers in the trees and the stable-type door on the yurt made an excellent hide to watch all the birds and red squirrels.

It was good fun crossing the rope bridge to the heated showers/toilets. There was a kitchen to wash up and use the kettle/microwave/fridge. Logs, candles etc were available via an honesty tin. We found the facilities clean and warm and there was always hot water available.

The tipis and yurts were well-spaced so we really felt like we were on our own in the countryside, especially when gazing at the stunning night sky next to our fire on the decking.

Very easy to reach Hadrian's Wall and Kielder Water from the site and there is a lovely NT site, Cragside, about an hour's drive away. The local pub is very cosy and we had a good meal at the Pheasant Inn ten minutes drive away.

We'd recommend this as a romantic get away or an adventurous family holiday and we'd love to go back.
