There is a sign on the gate saying 'Camp Site Closed'. No response from the house but 2 local people say it is not a temporary closure- they have packed it in.
This is a shame as there does not appear to be a low priced site in the area now- Lindell down the road is also closed.
If you find a site, the area is good- Bridlington is a couple of miles away. It still smells of chip fat but it is ok and has shops.
The attraction around this area are the coast and the sea cliffs, with many thousands of assorted seabirds.

I'm 19 and my boyfriend is 20, we just went as a couple (my first time camping excluding a festival I went to last year) when we arrived we drove up the drive to a field. When I noticed just 2 portable loos and nothing else I panicked a bit. They don't have showers but it wasn't hard to find somewhere to shower, I managed to have a shower everyday we just had a 5 min drive for one!
As this was my first time camping properly I really enjoyed myself. The staff we brilliant, brought bbqs and bricks(to stand stoves on) right to your tent you didn't have to kart anything round.
They hire out bbqs and campfires for a small fee of £2 a night and bags of logs for £5 and I think coal is free! there is one whole field which is kept free for children to play in and another field for your dogs to play in.
The price is £4 per person per night. Under 2s and dogs are free. You can book in for 3 people and pitch 3 tents if you wish etc, . They allow you to put gazebos up free of charge, you aren't limited to space (plots are not marked out) you can take up as little or as much space as you want. You park your car next to your tent!
I loved my stay here. It's in the middle of the countryside but it's easily accessible to Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington, flamborough and Hornsea. The location is great! Local tesco superstore, morrinsons and mcdonalds are just a 10 min drive away. You can actually walk to Bridlington if you wish.
This campsite is new for this year so at the moment the owners are only allowing 14 bookings before fully to allow space and avoid over crowding. I think this is really good of them as the last thing you want is to be door to door with other tents like at a festival.
If this campsite had showers it would most certainly get 10 stars from me! Brilliant site and brilliant staff. We forgot a padlock so all our gear was just left in the tent when we were out which was usually from 10am to 4pm everyday and nothing went missing. You are safe to stay here! Loved it! Will be going back! Thanks for a good weekend puffin campsite. It's so peaceful and relaxing

Stayed at this site because it was called 'Puffin' campsite, after travelling from Portsmouth I was rather disappointed to see there were no sea birds in or around the vicinity of the campsite. Nor were there any views of the sea!
You don't really get that 'countryside feel' as the site is located up the owners driveway off the mainstreet of the village, behind their house. There is no hot water as the toilets are portaloos.
