Stopped here for four nights on our way back home WHAT a find. Excellent facilities, wide pitches all with flat hard standing for the van and grass for the tent or awning. Swimming pool, and very quite. About half full. Play area for the kids AWAY from the main site. From the previous review the owner had really taken the site forward but without spoiling it. Highly recommended. And I don't leave many reviews so that speaks for itself.

We used this site as a stop on the way down South as a change from the usual Troyes and Chalons options. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from exit 21 on A26 through some very pretty villages to get there. Although rural, the roads are fine for larger caravans and campervans too. Access into the site is fine.
The site is situated in the pretty village of Soulaine Dhuys behind the church. We had the pick of pitches because aside from one other couple we were the only visitors at this time in June. We got a good friendly welcome and although I tried out my French, English was spoken. Most of the pitches are half hard standing and grass and many have shade- not required for our stay as it was just a pleasant 20 degrees. Electric points are shared between several pitches and some pitches may require extention leads, there are plenty of water points around the site. If you are arriving in hotter weather, there is a lovely pool adjacent to the bar area. The bar itself is small but they do serve a limited selection of food and ice creams. As the site was so quiet when we were there or maybe because it was a Sunday, food was not available so we can’t comment on what it was like.
The site itself could have done with a bit of tidying up ie: a bit of hedge clipping and grass mowing but given that it had been raining heaviliy for a week or so before we arrived, it was not surprising that this work hadnt been done.
Showers old fashioned but spotless with plenty of hot water, loos also clean but of the take your own paper variety. May get busy if the site is full as there were only two showers and two European loos and 1 old style French loo in each block.
All in all a lovely peaceful site, with a pretty village to walk round. No bars or restaurants in the village that we could see although there is a “Prix” shop which we didn’t find. It is within about 15 minutes of Brienne Le Chateau which does have more facilities and some of the villages that we passed through also had restaurants.
One last thing- don’t panic about the loud bell chimes from the church they stop at 7pm and don’t start again until 9am.

A third update for this lovely peaceful well run site on our now annual visit. Its actually only 4 1/4 hours from the tunnel and makes a great last stop. This year we had exceptional temperatures up to 38C so the pool was a real lifesaver. The site is never crowded in May/June/ early july. Note the need to book by email and NOT on the booking form which doesn't seem to work from the Uk

An update based on this years visit. There is now a swimming pool and terrace plus a motor home change point with wastewater disposal. Anybody wishing to book would be advised to email rather than using the booking form as some technical problem seems to exist from the uk.
Otherwise this lovely site remains as described

After four visits to this site over six years we have seen it building on what was already delightful. It lies behind one of the prettiest unspoilt villages in this region which is completely off the tourist map- part of what makes it so peaceful and quiet. The village is accessed by a path from the site. It is a collection of old half timbered buildings with a clear trout stream through the middle. There is a well stocked general store in the middle with exceptionally friendly owners. The site is one the most friendly we have ever used. It has 40 well screened gravel based emplacements separated by mature hedges. There is a cafe/bar and a swimming pool under construction ( estimated for use in 2013 ) The toilet block is heated and well equipped, kept in a spotless condition. There is a disposal point for toilet waste and water filling. There are laundry facilities.
We could not commend this site more highly either for a one night stop en route south ( its about 6 hours from calais and 20 minutes off the autoroute. ) or for a few days peace. The surrounding countryside is great for cycling and very unspoilt. There are some small towns locally - Bar sur l'aube and Brienne which have restaurant facilities.
