Lovely pub with excellent food and good beer. Camp site lacks access for fresh water fill, no waste water disposal and no dedicated chemical waste.
Shower and toilet combined and cleaned twice day however; gap under door lets leaves and dust blow straight in and there is no mop or broom to clean floor before and after using the shower.
No heating and shower water temperature varies between stone cold and boiling hot.
For another £2 per night two people can stay in Colchester on pitch with electricity, TV, fresh water and grey waste disposal. We booked and paid for 7 nights but moved to Colchester after 6 nights for comfort before long drive home.
Understand there are plans to improve the site as current owners only took over this year. When the facilities match the price the campsite will be much better.

Great location, lots to do in the local area, the pub and food were fabulous too.
We visited Westonbirt Arboretum, which was stunning and spent some time in Tetbury.
Would highly recommend.

This is a good campsite with a nice pub on site. The owners have done a lot of work and it will be really lovely in a few years when the trees have grown.
We stayed on a bank holiday weekend and it was absolutely rammed. The price was an eye watering £30 for a small tent (2 people) with no electric and that would put me off going again.
Food in the pub was mostly good though very salty.

Wanted to visit Tetbury and found this site - it had a pub and electricity which was what mattered most! As we arrived the Thursday before a bank holiday we were the only touring outfit on site. Firstly the good. The pub is a really lovely old building with beams, nick nacks and cosy leather sofas with sides splitting and stuffing falling out. There is an outside seating area which would be great for holding rallys, having a barbeque area and music (which they have most Fridays). The staff are really friendly too. The sausage and mash was wonderful, their own pigs apparently - which live on the site (great for kiddies). My ham and eggs would have been just as good if it hadn't been left under the pas too long and overcooked everything. The ice cream (hand made) is wonderful. The field was lumpy but spacious and mown and the owners have planted fruit trees which in 10 years will provide shade and privacy. There are 3 shower/loo blocks - all working as far as we could tell - 10 in all I think each having a loo and shower. Not sure how so few would cope with a full campsite. No disabled facilities available on our visit. The 'drive' was bare earth and could be pretty messy going in wet weather - this needs sorting quite quickly as does the lack of disabled access. The site was quiet, no road noise to speak of. All in all a nice relaxing if rather too expensive for what you get (£25 pn) few days.

The facilities feel like a £12 site rather than the £20 they charge. Signage is poor, things like there is no sign for fresh water so it looked like people had used the single water outlet for cleaning toilet cassettes (it looked like a toilet disposal point). Half of the toilet/shower rooms were permanently out of use (wooden bars screwed over the door). Electric hook-up is an extra £5 on top of the already expensive £20 fee. There is lots of space and a pub on site. Some of the showers were nice and big. Generally it felt like no one cared for the site.

We stayed here for one night as we were attending a concert at Westonbirt Arboretum and it was the nearest site. Although the location was good we were not impressed. The field was small and quite overgrown in places. It wasn't well maintained and was very basic. The unisex toilet/shower hut consisted of four cubicles - two of which were out of order and one had a blocked toilet. This left one toilet (and that cubicle was filthy and full of flies). The cubicles contained both toilet and shower. So anybody having a shower would have stopped the rest of the field using a toilet! Apparently there were two more cubicles attached to the back of the pub but nobody told us this. The welcome we received was great. The barmaid was very helpful and friendly, and even gave us a map for a quick and easy route to the concert venue. However, the route took three times longer than she told us and involved us having to scramble over a barbed wire fence, cutting hands and legs.
We paid £20 for the pitch (without electricity). Not worth it!

Just got back from a nights stay here. Lovely landlady and staff we felt so welcomed on the campsite and in the pub. Had the most delicious meal followed by 2 bands that night.
Hubby drank rather a lot of the lovely cider brewed on site which was lovely.
Campsite very basic but that is what we love just the pigs and chickens to watch. We paid £10 for the camper van for the night.
Will be heading back for a longer weekend in the summer.

This site scores top marks for customer service and location, and the food in the pub is to die for!
When we first arrived I wanted a shower (we'd stayed on the roadside in central Bristol the night before and been to a gig, so I was feeling pretty grubby!) Unfortunately there was no hot water in the showers, but when I enquired at the pub I was told a new gas bottle was on its way.
I saw the gas arrive and people pottering around cleaning up the washing up point, so tried again later but it turned out the boiler was broken. This is in no way the fault of the proprietors, we were clearly the first campers of the season and took them rather unawares! To make up for it, the owners gave us a full refund, AND a drink each on the house, AND free bread rolls for our breakfast the next day, AND - check it out - did our washing-up for us inside and it came back clean with two complementary sponges! They could not have been nicer, we ended up spending our refund on a 2 course evening meal in the pub - all the food is sourced locally, and we had sausages from their own Tamworth pigs - just gorgeous. It's lovely to have the ducks and chickens coming up to say hello, and watching the pigs is just hilarious.
Got a really peaceful night's sleep, only one drawback really - the state of the toilet/shower cubicles. They were SO filthy! Maybe they are more on top of their cleaning in peak season, I certainly hope so as I'd love to come back. Can't really complain about the price since we got a refund, but I must say that £10 per person is rather steep for what we would have got - there are full blown holiday parks with swimming pools and stuff that charge less!

Stayed on a very rainy night on the way back from a weeks holiday, and called at several sites that were full.
The staff and the locals in the bar were really friendly and helpful. Apparently the Pub had only changed hands a few months ago and the new owners were really trying to make changes.
We ate in the evening good value 'pub grub'. Many of the dishes made from their own reared pork. (not for squeamish townies) My husband had a nice Pork Curry and I had sausages both made from their own pork. Good selection of ales and cider.
The site is a large field behind the pub where they rear pigs, chickens etc which would be nice for children. There is plenty of room for 'running about'.
Facilities are some electric pitches / two loos/showers ( a bit limited and basic but no problem to us) and a rather basic chemical disposal point.
All in all a nice country stop over with basic amenities which is our favourite type of site.
The only thing that would put me off returning is the price. I thought £20 + £5 for electric (which I didn't take) was steep. I stayed the night following on a 5* star with ALL amenities for £25.

We stayed here for two nights over the Treefest weekend, so the site was very busy. However, it was still very quiet in the night with no loud music being played or loud chatting etc into the night.
We paid £20 per night for a Campervan with Awning, no electric hook up.
The site is at the back of the Holford Arms, so it is very handy for the local Pub!
The facilities are two rooms with a shower and toilet in each, they are unisex. The downside to this is if someone is having a shower, then you may be waiting a while to use the only remaining toilet! However, during pub opening times you can pop into the pub to use the loos there. The showers are free to use.
There are two washing up sinks with hot water.
There are chickens kept on the site and there are pigs in the next field, which our daughter loved.
The site is very near to Westonbirt Arboretum (1mile) and I am sure that when we go to Treefest again next year, we will be staying at this site again.
