We went to Maybrand Fishery last year and stayed in one of their chalets. The accommodation comprised a single bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living area, all presentable and clean. We found the staff very helpful when we arrived, showing us around, and knowledgeable of the vicinity.
The site, although tucked away in the countryside, is in fact only 5 miles away from Romford, (and only about 12 miles from the Olympic village)
There are a few pubs within 10 minutes walking distance, but more pubs and shops within 10 minutes drive.
There is ample parking. I really enjoyed the fishing, but only managed to try from 2 of the lakes, and my friend, Dave, had his first go at clay pigeon shooting.
We will be going again.

We stayed in one of the site chalets it was clean comfortable warm and had all the facilities required to make our time here fun.
The birdlife (feathered kind) was great to watch kingfishers owls bats hawks all kind were around.
Fishing was abundant and choice of four lakes made it a variable time carp go to just under 30lbs.
The camping area has two fields at rear and front of the lakes so nice views and their are some site toilets and showers all of which are clean.
Their is use of washing machine but can be a bit of a problem if to many are waiting however the site will take in laundry themselves at a service price.
The site lacks electric hook up and a shop but then it is in the rural area and has a village shop which is a 10 - 15 min walk.
Lots of bike ride area and walks around so do you research and take a map.
Go visit the secret nuclear bunker its a car ride about 15 mins but well worth it and nearby is Epping Village with shops bars restaurants
