We used the site as a base to visit relatives. Camping is on a level grassy field next to the owners’ house and turkey sheds, with very little shade from the fierce sun.

There was no nuisance from the farm but the pet geese kept alongside the campsite were noisy if approached and quite smelly. Some of the other caravan occupants were playing loud music in the evenings.

As it's a basic site there are no facilities beyond the minimum (water, chemical disposal point and dustbins). Electricity available at an extra £8 per night.

The site WiFi was free of charge and worked OK.

The nearest garage /shop is 2 miles away, along a road with seventeen (17) speed bumps!

Level field in rural area overlooking the small holding (so some vehicle movement and noise from geese and turkeys, but not excessive).

Close to Cambridge (use park and ride), Duxford air museum (so you may see spitfires and hurricanes overhead), Ely (cathedral, town and Oliver Cromwell's house) US Airforce war cemetery, Stowe gardens, all worth visiting.

Take care on approach road when towing, infested with speed bumps which may scramble your eggs, when leaving we went south from site.

WE were met by the owner who explained where we could pitch and where the water and elsan points were.

This is a level grassy pitch and very quiet at night.

A very pleasant laid back site. Easy and straight forward to get to.

We were greeted on arrival and given the procedure for COVID-19 response, which was very good.

There are no toilet or showers which was ok as we like to use these smaller sites anyway and using our on board facilities is routine for us.

The pitch we were on was nicely sheltered with a great view across the fields.

A handy mini supermarket is at the local garage just up the road.

The site is ideally placed to visit Cambridge (P&R not far away), Wimpole Hall and other places.

We do a lot of walking and there are plenty of footpaths easily negotiated around the site.

This site is to be highly recommended for its rural tranquillity, yet convenient proximity to Cambridge. It is nicely run and the owners quick to respond to enquiries and accommodating of one’s preferences. I stayed in this site over the Easter weekend, and even then it was quiet, just a couple of other caravanners. It is a comfortable site and indeed I found it so conducive to peaceful introspection that I extended my stay to a full fortnight.

It is easily approached from the M11, or if coming from the west, the A1. It is about a 20-minute drive west of Cambridge town, easy to find, a little beyond the Bourn aerodrome (for those who know the area). It is set well away from busy roads, but access to the field is easy, a mile or so along a good country road then up a short driveway and there you are. The field is alongside the farmhouse, from where the owners can unobtrusively keep an eye on comings and goings and thereby provide a decent sense of security.

The field itself consists of an oblong, level greensward of soft, lush grass, neatly mown. You can pitch along the inner length if you prefer an entirely sunny spot, or along the facing side, bounded by a tall hedgerow of shrubs and young trees, which provide afternoon shade and a screen from the road. There are also some saplings between the pitches, which in time will provide additional shade. One isn’t aware of the road, which carries very little passing traffic.

The facilities are typical of this sort of rural site (Camping and Caravanning Club “certified site”): a limited number of pitches, so it is very quiet, and basic facilities consisting of fresh water, a chemical disposal unit and bins (though for a short stay, why not take your refuse home with you). Like many “cs” sites, there are no toilet facilities, so you need to be self-sufficient in the ablutions department. (My top rating for faciilties takes this into account. It's a bit silly to mark a site down when it is clear what you are getting. ) The pitches all have sockets for electrical hook-up. The daily rates are most favourable.

Although rural, the farm is a pleasant walk of about two furlongs to a nearby village. There is a petrol station and garage about a mile away. For those who require a retail fix, there are two hypermarkets, about 10 minutes and 20 minutes distant (by car).

The site itself is perfect for those seeking a tranquil rural setting with a pleasant outlook on to an undulating landscape of mixed open farmland, punctuated with plenty of patches of woodland, copse and still quite a bit of hedgerow in the vicinity. It is also suitable for those who want a quiet base from which to explore the colleges of Cambridge, Rupert Brookes’s Grantchester, the surrounding country or places slightly further afield, such as the “The Lodge, Sandy, Beds” or some interesting old manor houses.

This is a lovely little site. Especially if you are looking for peace and quiet, away from all the hustle and bustle. There are lots of public footpaths close by.

The owners (Tracey and Andrew - the farmer) are very friendly and most helpful.

We had young grandchildren stay with us for a few nights. Andrew came to meet them and explain the boundaries and why. We didn't feel uncomfortable with the noise we made even though their home is in front of the site.

Apart from from fresh water and the elsan point, there are no facilities, as expected.
