Just back from another idyllic stay having discovered this wonderful campsite last year. The owners have worked incredibly hard to make everything 'covid ready' without loosing the relaxed and natural vibe of the campsite.
It even seems to have its own microclimate as we missed most of the major storms but still got to see the lightening shows and during the day swam in the sea under the 'relentless' Welsh sun.
Amazing beaches near by at Little Haven (big shout out to the castle Pub for great food and service) and Broad Haven (endless sand), further afield Freshwater West Bech is worth driving to and for Harry Potter fans it is the location of Dobbie's memorial.
Definitely will be looking to return.

We stayed here with three children for 10 nights in late August 2018.
If your idea of camping is not only no electricity, no lights (other than solar fairy lights) in the toilets, one washing up station completely exposed to the elements (with no hot water) and lots of rain and wind then this is the place in August! For us and the kids - we loved it. Completely basic as advertised. Located in a meadow with about 15 pitches max. Plenty of space and opportunity for open fires.
And the location is fantastic. We live in Cambridgeshire so hills are a bit of a novelty to us so really enjoyed the walk down to Little Haven and then further along to Broad Haven.
Children loved the area and despite being August bank holiday it was never crowded at the spectacular beaches.
Really enjoyable - wonderfully basic but with plenty of fridges and freezers.

We chose this site after extensive research, for 5 nights with our granddaughter. We wanted a site where kids could roam free, play ball games and on bikes. Walton West was perfect. Almost all families with younger children, friendly people and quiet by 11pm. Perfect for access to Little Haven and Broad Haven and the wider Pembrokeshire coast. Fantastic star shows every night too! Facilities are basic, with cold water for washing up but hot showers. Absolute bargain at £15 a night for 3 of us.
If you're looking for manicured grass, designated areas for children and dogs, wifi or 3G this is not the site for you. There are plenty of others around though.

We spent just under a week at Walton West campsite in August and really loved it. We were a group of three families with kids and we found the site perfect for us. Lots of space, beautiful location and a really warm welcome from owners Greg and Alison who clearly work really hard to make the campsite as comfortable and hospitable as possible. The field has a real wildlife feel as the grass is left to grow long until needed for a tent, so it feels quite private and secluded even when full. And it's a really sheltered spot so when the Sou'westerly gets going you're still relatively protected from the elements.
It's a small site and the facilities are pretty basic - as advertised on the website. But the toilet and shower were always spotlessly clean and the fact that you have to pay £1 for hot water means that no one hogs the shower! So you hardly ever have to queue for long :-)
We had been staying in a cottage just up the road in Nolton Haven the previous week to staying at this camp site, so we had the chance to visit a few sites before choosing Walton West. It was easily the best in terms of location, size, facilities, and the great hosts. In fact we dubbed it the Camping X Factor Winner of this part of Pembrokeshire.
Very much recommended for a family camping holiday.
Don't forget to visit Little Haven if you do stay here - a fantastic little cove village with three brilliant pubs (The Swan, The Castle and St Bride's Inn - the latter does amazing food too) and a gorgeous little beach. Just a half mile walk down the hill from the camp site.
