This was a lovely quiet site with level pitches and fabulous views of the area.
The facilities were not open so can't comment on them and we don't have small children but the owners were most welcoming and we would certainly return again.
It is an easy walk to catch the bus into Pickering or to Helmsley from outside the village pub, which also served good food.

My friend and I booked a static caravan here to take our two children to Flamingo Land. We were very pleased with the accommodation as the beds were comfy and the caravan was spotless. It was very well equipped and there was a TV with a DVD player which was handy after a tiring day out. Pickering is close by, with several places to eat and drink. Flamingo Land is only a few miles away and York, Whitby and Scarborough are all within a short drive. The price for three nights accommodation was a fraction of what it would cost for a bed and breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

An acceptable CL which could be made better without too much trouble or expense.
The good points:
Very easy access directly off the main road so no narrow roads to negotiate and the short driveway is well surfaced.
It's easy to get to most places (but Pickering is a nightmare to get through).
The site is reasonably level and has hardstandings, good recycling and the CWD is OK. There is a children's' play area which looked ok.
The poor points:
The grass is too long, it wasn't cut in the 8 days we were there.
There is a 'dog walk' signed to the right of the site, but the only way to access this is to squeeze through a small gap by the CWD. Fat people wouldn't make it! the walk itself is a track shared by the cows so is muddy in wet weather and rutted when dry.
The price of £12 for hardstanding and £11 on the grass seems a little excessive.
Local amenities:
A decent Co-op in Pickering, also Costcutter and a variety of other shops. Don't go on Monday unless you want to go to the market.
Co-op in Kirkbymoorside going west.
Local pub within walking distance in Wrelton, but we didn't try it.
Lots of places to visit in the North York Moors and the seaside at Scaborough, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay is easy enough to get to.
