 What a lovely site!
Very helpful, friendly & accommodating owners in Helene & Pierre.
We have just spent a week here as part of a two week tour of France and this site was so tranquil.
There was nothing we needed which could not be catered for on site or by a short walk into Artemare, the local village / town.
Lots of interesting walks in the surrounding countryside too.
The site has a bar & Restaurant serving cold drinks and a daily food special.
Bread & pastries can be ordered the day before for collection the following morning in & from reception.
Reception also hosts a small shop with take away alcohol and general supplies, not food though, you need to go to town for that.
Sanitary facilities are well maintained and spotless, there are two separate blocks, which helps when one is being cleaned.
Nice cooling pool, not massive, but enough for a cooling dip, the speedo law is enforced on this site :-)
Alongside the site is a shallow river for more entertainment, ideal for our dog to splash around in.
There is also some evening entertainment.
Artemare itself is about a half mile walk, it has a Carrefour 'express', pharmacy, butchers, bakers, hotel which serves meals and two bars which also serve food, there is also a tabac and a general store.
The Carrefour has two self service fuel pumps as well.
All in all a lovely site in a lovely location.
We would definitely stay here again if in the region.

Middle aged couple with trailer tent
This was our second visit to this campsite and I can only agree with SG's review. It is one of our favourite sites; Helene and Pierre are so welcoming and helpful, the site's beautifully maintained, in walking distance to a Carrefour Market and Logis Hotel that serves a wonderful three course menu for about 14. 50 €.
Although tourist attractions are easily reached, it's not too touristy, an ideal location for peace and quiet ( particularly now the saw mill has closed). All for the bargain price of 10€ per night!

We chose this site because it was the cheapest in the ACSI book and didn't expect much.
It is a immaculately maintained site with heated swimming pool and a sanitary block that makes many homes look shabby. The undressing area in the shower cubicle has a bench 4ft 2 inches long and is completely away from any splashing.
Pitches are very large and delineated by mature, manicured hedging, each has ehu on the corner of the plot.
At reception there is a covered cafe area which has wifi reception and there is a games marquee where there is internet, tv and general information.
Meals are provided at €5 each, not actually cordon bleu but very good and huge. Bicycle hire is available at €3 a half day or €5 the full day.
The nearest supermarket is LeClerc in Culoz about 5 km away and there is very cheap petrol at Netto.
In the area there are magnificent walks and the marsh bird reserve is worth a visit (bluethroats, shrikes, marsh harriers etc). A day trip to Aix les Bains is a must.
Have already noted this site for next year.
