This was the only site we booked out of our 18 day holiday in France and we needn't have done so as there was plenty of room when we arrived on 9th. The rudeness of the security person on the gate when I was about to leave the campervan in front of the entrance to check in wasn't the best welcome to the site. On reflection I suppose I should have picked somewhere else to park. Reception spoke English and check in was easy. We were allocated a pitch which was hard baked bare soil. There were no hedges between pitches and no shade. The only hedges were separating the individual avenues and this is where the electric points were hidden. There was a reasonably well stocked shop on site and a bar/snack bar. During the day there were organised activities around and in the pool and the music for this was very loud and audible all over the site. The evening entertainment was the same. The staff did there level best to keep the toilets and showers clean but were hindered by the local French youth who seemed intent of blocking toilets and damaging the facilities. My only criticism of the cleaners is that they started cleaning the toilets etc before 7am and locked the doors. They did this at both toilet blocks and if you didn't know they left one door open to the toilet area in the furthest block you were snookered. What a crackpot idea locking people out of the toilets when they have just got up. The beach area is very handy. Aswell as being a campsite there are also some permanently pitched tents for hire and a lot of holiday chalets on the site. They are positioned nearer the beach and I should imagine it will be quieter there. Saintes Maries de la Mer is a very picturesque town full of bars and restaurants. In and amongst all the gift shops there are some express supermarkets. I asked about the free access to the church roof at the site but was told they don't provide that. We visited Arles and Aigue Mortes on our travels. The Camargue is a beautiful part of the world. This site gave the impression of being a holiday camp not a campsite. Not our cup of tea. We won't be returning. You'll also need industrial strength insect repellent. The mossies etc are voracious. Campervan 2 adults with electric £26. 25 per night

On arrival obtained up-grade pitch ie water & drainage. We stayed seven nights. Only problem the road to ferry (ferry not used at night) runs just over the hedgedrow along side of campsite this road was a dead end but all night long lots of vehicles travelled up & down. Two large toilet blocks on this site, the block we used my wife and myself found it's not cleaned out at times ie large used toilet paper left on floor nr toilet bowl and shower cubicles messy.

Around this campsite the local council had made large parking areas. You just go over a small mound and you are on the beach. The town was about one mile, its nice and clean plenty of restaurants, etc. Plus campsite offers free entry to church roof with panoramic views.

Campsite had a nice swimming pool and private area to the beach. PLEASE NOTE lots of mosquitos around due to the pitch base ie sand. Unless you travel not much to see after looking around the town

We loved this site as a quiet base for one week before moving to another site. The pool was busy but good for the children, the real plus was the sandy beach adjoining with soft sand and big blocks all round presumably to stop erosion, making lovely big bays which make it safe for the children to swim as this area can be rough and windy.

The piches were small but we had hook up and water so adequate, this is a nice site for a quiet week not too far from aigues mortes. It is not a busy site, which suits our family and we would return

We hadn't booked but there was room. BUT there is a shortage of electric hook ups. A kind German let us plug into his multi gang. The pool was very good and there is a small bar/restaurant which does a regular trade. There is a gate to a beautiful little cove, very safe, on the Mediterranean A key is provided at reception when you book in for this. It's a flat walk/cycle into Saintes Maries de la Mer which is a charming little sea side town with a fascinating church, and a bull ring on the beach. We were there for 21st June, fete de Musique which was wonderful with local musicians singing/playing throughout the town. It's an ACSI site in the off season. It is quite big and I imagine in high season the pool area would get full. The sanitaires are clean but. Everyone seemed to lose their way. Met lots of people holding their toothbrushes and trying to look relaxed !It may be due to the shape of them, semi circular ?!Nevertheless I would return!
