Visited this site in mid June 2013. On arrival the place was completely deserted and the office was closed, so we found a pitch and set up for the night. Very quiet spot and spent a restful night. Met the site Manager, Jerome, in the morning and he was very helpful with excellent English. Very kindly telephoned the local Vet to have our dog examined for the Pet travel scheme.
The site is a little remote but still offers a good base to tour the area. It is on a hill side, so all pitches have a slight slope. Access could be tricky for long caravans without a motor mover. No problems for tents or motorhomes.
No dedicated motorhome service point, although there is a tap in the dishwashing area that can be used with your own (long) hose. There is a drain point outside the toilet block for emptying waste tanks.
The site is well landscaped with pitches divided by hedges, vines or roses. The grass pitches are well mown and had a lush grass covering at the time of our visit.
Toilets, showers and dishwashing all catered for in the same block with modern and clean facilities. Site has eco awards for recycling and energy use. Attractive small wooden chalets available to hire.
All in all an excellent little site recommended for short or longer stays.
The site has a small swimming pool with sun terrace. Ice cream and wine available from reception. Village in walking distance has a few small shops including an excellent Butcher who smokes his own produce.

We found this by accident whilst driving through the village. It's a hidden secret paradise. Very small with about 25 pitches plus some small but attractive chalets all landscaped on a ridge overlooking rose, sunflower and corn fields, as well as the vineyards. Some pitches have shade and all are large but some are on a slight slope. The water pressure is very low so take a good book with you when fill up! The facilities are immaculate.
Each pitch is divided by low hedges of vines, roses or other shrubs.
There is a small but beautiful pool overlooking the country side. I had it to myself most days.
There is a village shop where bread can be bought as well as a butchers. There are 2 large supermarkets 10 minutes in Doue la Fountaine. Just follow route straight over ring road.
Jerome and his assistant are very friendly and helpful. They organise a wine tasting every Saturday together with help from the local mayor. Activities for children are also organised such as a painting class in the shade one afternoon.
This is mainly a French and Dutch site.
Wifi is a bit hit and miss.
The best route avoiding narrow roads through villages is from Doue La Fountaine and leave the western dual carriageway onto the D84 following signs for Saint George's sur Layon. After 2. 4 km, just before you approach a sharp right bend, take the left turn. Turn right at the junction and slow down as you approach another very sharp right bend, carefully follow track straight ahead!
This was a very peaceful and relaxing site. Great for families and couples.
