 Terschelling is a real gem of an island - and this site is very highly recommended.
Terschelling is one of the Wadden Islands, 45 mins by catamaran (passenger only) or 2 hours (car ferry) from Harlingen. The island is very popular with the Dutch but hardly frequented at all by others.
The island is something like 20 long and 3 miles wide and given it's very flat, means it's perfect for cycling (much of the island is car-free). We took our campervan but once parked up, were obliged to leave and cycle everywhere as this campsite is car-free. (Bike hire is available on the site - cheap at £6-7 per day).
The site itself is flat and consists of several linked 'fields' separated by trees. Pitches are spacious. Facilities are modern and clean, there is a (rather pricey) restaurant on site and the office staff are extremely helpful. There's a large kids' playground. Just nearby is a lake with a beach, and sand dunes to run down.
The site is a 15 min cycle from the huge sandy beaches on the north coast and the main town of West Terschelling (think attractive seaside town without any commercial tackiness).
Terschelling really is a perfect location for a laid back beach holiday. We only stayed 3 nights but most people seemed to be there for 1 - 2 weeks; you could certainly spend at least a week exploring the beaches, cycle routes and small villages. Highly recommended.
