We chose this site as it is not far from Cannon Hall Farm, Holmfirth, The National Coal Mining Museum and with easy access to the Pennine Way and a short drive to the Peak District; in addition we discovered that there are lots of lovely walks to be had straight from the site.
This site warden is friendly, provided us with a leaflet on what is on around about and emergency numbers if needed.
The field is flat, with fresh water point and drain (that can be used as a Motorhome Service Point), two toilets (male and female) NO wash Basins, a low easy to use Elsan point, there are EHU's available, we were warned though that in wet weather it is possible to get bogged down – but there’s a collection of tractors to get you out!
As there is a very large collection of David Brown Tractors and farming equipment on site, which the owner is more than happy to show you around.
We had mixed weather and enjoyed the beautiful panoramic views, with clean skies at night it is an astronomers paradise as there was minimal light pollution. The next door fields were being harvested and so a lot of different birds visited.
There is a nice walk into Shepley but down hill, on the way there are two pubs one on Marsh lane and one in the village, both provide food, there is an artisan cafe (lovely fresh food) and well stocked Co-Op shop in the village, a Post Office, a Chinese takeaway.
In summary, it’s a good basic Certified Site with minimal facilities, clean and well looked after. Facilities are basic but adequate. If you want lots of facilities the site won`t be for you. However it is so relaxing and the views are amazing, definitely a site to use as a base.
We will definitely be returning

We selected this site for it’s location close to Holmfirth, but it's also easy to get to the moors. In summary, it’s a good basic Certified Site, clean and well looked after. Facilities are basic but adequate, though some may struggle if they are not independent units.
This site warden is friendly, and helpful with practical matters as well as advice. The field is flat, and we only needed to level up front to back. We were warned though that in wet weather it is possible to get bogged down – but there’s a collection of tractors to get you out!
We had good weather and enjoyed lovely 360 degree views. At night we had clear skies and I will be taking my telescope on the next visit – it’s not a bad site for amateur astronomy. We’re not twitchers, but we enjoyed watching some nesting lapwings and listening to their bizarre calls that sound something like a metal detector or badly tuned electronics. We also heard peacocks kept on a neighbouring farm.
There’s only one pub in the village now, one has closed because of covid lockdown. We didn’t get to sample their beer as I considered it a drive in the car from the Marsh Farm into the village. The Co-Op shop is very well stocked and I sampled a few bottles from their instead.
Would I go there again? Absolutely Yes. I don’t like “normal” sites and I’m very happy with the peace and solitude a CS brings.

This was our 3rd visit to Marsh Farm. We love the site because it is so relaxing and the views are amazing. Just check when you book that there isn`t a Rally on as they do have them at times. Typical CS site with minimal facilities. If you want lots of facilities the site won`t be for you.
Shepley village has a Post Office, a well stocked Co Op. A Chinese takeaawy and 2 pubs that both do food. Lots of lovely walks to be had straight from the site.
We always get a warm welcome from the warden and are already planning our next visit.

What a site. As I need to be constructive about my review I will.
NO washroom. I used services 10 mile trip to have a wash. Friendly area. Locals were brilliant
The one toilet wasn't cold because when sat on toilet your knees touched the door.
Entertainment. Lots of it I had singing from a farm neighbouring the site and not to mention him running up and down the site pretending it was an army camp with his toy gun. Worrying he popped up behind my tent pretending to shoot me. There is a washroom but you cant use it because whoever owns it see I not used the word warden or owner wont let you use it. It made me feel like was in 1920s stood in a field getting washed with bowl of water. All because I couldn't spare an hour to drive to service station on M1. Was met at the gate and didn't have time to take a look before been asked for money.
So play in a field kids neighbour will play with you.
I really hope this honest review gets printed as it is honest. Oh by the way if use the one toilet please say hello to spiders and cobwebs. Be careful of the step in. It just a pile of rocks.
Local pubs short distance in case you need a stiff drink.
Will I return.
Rather burn my loyal tent first.
