Got to agree with the other reviews. Its a working farm, cattle in the adjacent field and a farmyard smell you get used to. Farm dogs wander round and leave dog poo as they want. Removed when pointed out, but it does encourage other dogs to be let run free.
Toilet and shower clean, but the water pressure is random, and leads to some cold showers.
Bit dissapointing for a camping and caravan Certified site

We recently stayed on this site. The site had a toilet and shower on site which where in need of a little updating but clean never the less. The site did not seem to have any organisation and no defined pitches. The electric hook up was only 5 amp and we couldn't boil a kettle with out it tripping. There was also a dog that was just free to Rome around the site and there was a lot of dog dirt upon the site. The dog was going under our caravan lots and disturbing our dog. Which the website stated we had to keep under control. The site seemed to have nice views if it hadn't been for the fog which no one could have control over. There was no information leaflets to advise of local walks etc. Would not stay at this site again and would not recommend

We stayed here for one night while cycle touring. The site is pleasantly situated on a farm with good views over the countryside. The facilities were basic, just a small brick hut with two showers/toilets. What spoiled it for us was the other campers, all in caravans and with large numbers of children, who partied on into the small hours. It was a Saturday night, so maybe it would have been ok mid-week. So if you want a quiet night, don't visit during the week-ends or, I suspect, the school holidays.
There is not much on the immediate area - the town has a couple of pubs but not much else, but it is close to the NCN 1 cycle route and a short car ride to the Durham coast.
