Good location, easy walk into interesting town. Good facilities, nice bar with Food.

Pitches reasonable size, managed a large caravan, awning and car.

Loved the cashless shop, just charge things to the pitch, great for breakfast bread and ice creams.

Helpful staff and clean facilities.

Stayed for 2 nights in April - nice site with decent sized pitches and clean facilities. Didn't really notice much noise from the nearby road so that wasn't a problem for us.

Site is perfectly located to walk up into town (be aware. Its steep!), and for bike rides along the river. Gaststätte Unter den Linden is worth a visit - its by the river about 10 mins walk away and has a lovely big biergarten (note: its cash only!).

Good value at £20 per night including EHU (they take credit cards). There's a great little shop on site - prices were pretty comparable to the convenience shops in town and you can order bread to pick up the next day.

A lovely quiet site with shady areas. Dog walking areas and fields nearby. About 20 mins walk into the old city, but it is is uphill! Not for those of limited mobility. Young lady on reception speaks very good English and very helpful, but the more mature lady, a tad dour. All in all a very nice place to stay.

We stayed at this campsite as a stopover between Switzerland and Cologne (Koln).

As tent campers we were given the option of any of the bottom 3 fields, (all the top fields are caravans etc and very compact). We chose the very end field as it was empty, the only downside to this is the busy road, although this does quieten down overnight. There were toilet and washing up facilities in our field, at the top of the campsite was showers (very clean with plenty of hot water), a small shop, bar, area to wash clothes etc, fridge/freezer, everything we needed basically. Also you can order in fresh bread for the morning for breakfast.

You can walk from the campsite into the village, which is a medieval village surrounded by a wall, it is amazing, you must try schneeballen (a local delicacy) and visit the christmas shop! Also we ate indoors at a gusthaus which was typical German and not full of tourists, delicious. One bonus for us was the lack of English people, it was refreshing to go away and experience a real part of Germany. I would definitely come back to this area.

Spent three nights at this excellent site.

Location

Excellent base for exploring the town of Rothenburg. This walled town is a spectacular sight with cobbled streets and stunning surroundings. A must-see if in the area!

Facilities

Clean and tidy facilities. The shower block was modern and there were plenty showers.

Value for Money

€20 per night, EHU and showers at a small extra cost.

Highly recommended!

This is a great find and en-route to the south (or north if you are returning from the Alps or southern Germany). Situated at the bottom of the hill but only a 15 min walk up into Rothenburg it makes a great place to stay over or simply stay.

We stayed for longer than we had planned simply because the weather was so glorious and the Alpine weather had started to thunderstorm.

Rothenburg is a real chocolate box town- amazing.

The site is great- good, large pitches, hook-up, great, clean facilities and a good shop who offer bread for breakfast (you choose it the night before and they get it in for you).

Highly recommended!

First stayed here in 2005 for a few days whilst driving up from Munich. Rothenburg is a lovely German town, all preserved walls and red brick buildings. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops although this does mean it's hugely popular and can be chock full of coach tours in the high season. Hotels are expensive here so this campsite is a godsend.

Really handily located, short walk from the city centre but up a very steep hill and steps ( you can always get a cab if this is a problem )so you kind of feel like you may have worked off one or two of the beers. Possibly.

Lovely campsite, not too large with really lovely facilities. If you want to visit Rothenburg this is the place to stay! Must visit the Kathe Wohlfahrt store in town for the best Xmas deccies you will ever see!

Gorgeous town with so many little places to stop for a beer or cake, you must go if you are anywhere close. IMHO the best area of Germany and I've now been 4 times. Love it.
