 Gorgeous little site, so cheap and reasonable. A small walk into town, however my children were happy to play for hours in the small stream passing through the campsite. Bathing & washing facilities were great, lots of hot water. The town swimming pool was 3 minutes walk from the site. Overall we enjoyed 2 pleasant nights here x

Very quiet when we stayed for a weekend, just 4 campervans on site. About 10 minutes easy flat walk into the town from the gate, there is a river large river and park opposite the park.
Pitches all on grass with ehu, despite recent rain not muddy. Showers / toilets are fairly old but very, very clean and the showers have great pressure, no push button and plenty of hot water. There is a hand clothes wash with hot water and dish washing up.
Wifi free on site, works best by reception - even with a booster no signal from half way up site. As previous review a stream runs through, very popular with fishermen when we were there.
The Cite L'Ecrit is worth a visit, there is a book shop that specialises in English books. The main town is small, just a handful of shops but there is a macaroon museum and a shop that makes macaroons and has done since 1920.
We found it a good stopover, it wont suit anyone that wants a cite or evening entertainment but for a quiet stay we paid €11 per night all in so suited us perfectly.

We arrived with Grandchildren, what a lovely place to stay, they had the time of their life, a little stream wanders through the site, fishing nets out each morning, night time they came back with crayfish!
This is a really nice site, just at the edge of the town center of Montmorillon. You park your camper or car and walk 5 mins into the heart of the town, cafe, restaurants, bars, Spa type mini supermarket. Excellent tourist information centre.
Campsite has a excellent laundry, washing up and toilet block, lovely and clean.
Children's play-area with swings etc.
TV room with free wifi.
Manager was really helpful, helping us set up and telling us of places to visit. It is also electronic gated.
Swimming bath with outdoor pool at the side of the campsite. Tennis courts up the road. Mini golf also.
River just outside the campsite gates. Lots of place to walk the dog along the river.
2 large supermarkets at the edge of town.
Lots going on in the town in summer.
Lovely town plaza with cafes all around, Pizza and kebab bars. River has 2 excellent restaurants at the side of it with outside seating area.
A nice creperie with tables under the tree's
Outdoor restaurant that did burgers for the children at the side of the river with a band playing.
The town is known for its candlelit evenings in the Town of the Written Word, 12c cathedral, excellent Wednesday morning market.

We had a brilliant stay and will be going back again
