 Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes.
We chose this site from a book as we were looking for somewhere to spend the night. It is situated just outside the town next to the Sports Centre, and is signposted from the town centre.
The entrance has rubber bollards at the sides, and we were concerned that our small van wouldn't go through, but a man came out from the office and guided OH in. There were a couple of small caravans on the site too, but it wouldn't be possible to get in with a large campervan.
The lady on reception didn't speak English, but was very friendly. She asked about our hook up cable, apparently there are 2 different ones in use but we have a full set.
The driveway takes you to the Sports Centre first, then the campsite is behind, in an open field area, with a few trees dotted around. There are EHU posts around, you just pitch where you like. There's lots of open space, people seem to walk dogs along the roadway and out along a footpath at the other side.
The sanitary block is in the middle, it is unisex, rather old and tired but clean enough.
There are 2 small rooms with showers and open basins, 3 squat toilets, and a strangely arranged room with a disabled toilet in it. Washing up is outside under cover. The water was nice and hot.
It is about 5 minutes by bike into town, where there are a number of shops, bars and restaurants.
This isn't the sort of place you would choose as a destination, but is a handy stopover, and one of the cheapest campsites I've used.
