 We loved this site. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and it is the cleanest campsite I have ever been to. They were a mine of information for tourism and did a handy weather forecast every day!
There is a bar area which seemed to be open all the time and a games room and play area which kept the children occupied when we weren't out visiting or swimming in the municipal pool next door.
The pitches were similar to other French campsite ones we have been on, meaning we could fit our car and a 5 man tent on it but without lots of room to manouevre.
Bread is available if ordered in advance and they froze my ice-packs for a small fee.
In terms of location, we picked the Carcassone area as we wanted to be between Toulouse and the beach as some members of the family *needed* to go to Cite de l'espace and others would have mutined if we hadn't made it to the beach. Personally, Carcassonne has made it to one of my favourite places ever and this site is near enough (about 20 mins away) to be able to visit a couple of times.
I would happily visit it again, especially as there is lots more in the area we would like to visit.

We wanted to be near enough to Carcassonne to visit it but not be in the city, and this small municipal site site suited us. The pitches are small but we managed to squeeze on our large tourer and 2 small tents plus car. There isn't much shade on many pitches, which given the high temperatures while we were there was a bit difficult, but we spent most of our short stay away from the site anyway.
There is a municipal pool a few hundred yards away that looked nice although we didn't use it ourselves. The lady on reception is very helpful and speaks better English than I speak French. Very clean and well equipped sanitary block, with plenty of laundry / washing up sinks.
The reception has a small bar area with free wi-fi.
The site is very close to Montolieu, which is reknown for its second hand book shops - there are masses of them! Sadly my DS and DD were not at all enamoured of our spending any swimming time there, but one day I'll go back to explore them. Montolieu has several nice bars and cafes as well as small shops and a small co-op type shop.
We had two fabulous visits to Carcassonne from here - a day time visit, which ended with a trip to a lake just outside the city where they have supervised bathing and a water play area, and a second night time one which was even more wonderful. Walking round in summer t-shirts, and sitting out having a drink at 10pm and being so warm.
We also spent a couple of lovely days at a lake - Le lac des Montagnès at Mazamet. Its a swimming lake with supervised bathing. We just swam and sunbathed and ate and swam - all surrounded by beautiful hills and trees. The downside is that dogs aren't allowed on the beaches, but we went up the far end and swam Toby beyond the barrier rope, and then swam ourselves within the barrier rope while he lay in the shade of the trees on a cool damp bank.
We paid 24 euros a night for the 4 of us plus dog - which includes hookup and free showers. I liked the site - and would go back, but another time would maybe go to the side away from the road. This was a big downside - the site lies alongside the main road into Montolieu and although at night there aren't very many cars, the speed they go past on the other side of the hedge makes your caravan vibrate and the sides of the tents wobble.
