This site is a real gem
We have stayed here 3 times from 2013,
The owners are absolutley fantastic
John and his wife are very thoughtful
Very peaceful site
We enjoy sites with basic facilities and if thats you then its the place to hook up for a few days of relaxation.
Its a 10 out of 10 from me.

Wow what a lovely couple so very helpful and the site has a friendly atmosphere. We had never been around this area before in all are touring years but we were made so very welcome by the owners and they even lent us some books to read about the area and places to visit. The pub over the road serves very good food and is also very friendly.
we were that impressed we booked another trip there while we were on site so we will be back in September for a week cant wait there is so much to see in the area.
Just like to say thank you for a very warm welcome it is part of the holiday when people make you feel welcome.

This is the second time I have visited this beautiful little site. I originate from the local area and came to visit friends and family in the area. The proprietors are very friendly and welcoming, they even loaned me some books on the local area to read during my stay. The site is very well maintained, it is handy for a host of local attractions and the pub is only 50 yards away (it serves real ale and the meals are good value!). I have no hesitation in recommending this site, I will certainly use it again.

We stayed for 4 nights at this site,
The owners are very friendly,
I come from Stanley so it was a great spot for us to visit my family, as it is only 3 mile from Stanley, where there is a asda supermarket.
The site is surrounded with great views,
No showers, but there is one toilet which is kept spotless,
There is loads of information about the area,
It is close to beamish. Tanfield Lee railway,
The Metro Shopping centre at Gateshead, Newcastle and Durham,
Also close enough to have the day at the coast South Shields, Whitly Bay. , There is a pub the three horse shoes,
But we ate in Stanley at Montys Home made food good value for money.
We will definitely be returning,

Small site but very handy if you are visiting Beamish Museum. Limited facilities but more than made up for by the staff who are more than helpful and very friendly. We have stayed there since and will be back there at the end of September as a stop over on our way back from France. Very handy and useful site

Stayed a couple of times and hope to again. Excellent site and good views. Service beyond expectations. During high winds our awning was being ripped apart, worried, we left caravan and went b&b. In the morning we found out Dixon had been out trying to tie things down.

Stayed 4 nights whilst visiting Beamish open Air Museum. Choice of hard standing or nice short grass. Lovely panoramic views. Level site. Electric hook up available. Spotlessly clean single toilet, and information room. Lots of nice walks in the area. Pub with good food just across the road. Park and Ride nearby. The owners are excellent hosts, very friendly, welcoming and interested in ensuring you get the most out of your stay, they can't do enough for you. Site is on a small sheep farm. If you are a narrow gauge railway enthusiast this is the site for you. We will definitely be going back.

Small Certified Site, with a big hearty welcome from the owners, Dixon & Maureen. They are a delightful couple who will make you feel really welcome, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. They were interested in us as people and were helpful with information about local amenities and where to find the Park and Ride. This is a great site although with fairly basic but spotlessly clean facilities, we were only there a couple of nights but will certainly return.
