 Stayed here last minute as the rest of Rugen island was booked up; this site had space as it's fairly far north and a bit isolated. They replied to an email in (bad) German quickly, and all staff were friendly and helpful; some spoke excellent English, but all tried to some extent. Absolutely beautiful beach with tidal pools for young kids, 3 minutes walk from the tent. Semi-nude beach, but our son wasn't bothered so we weren't. Pitches are all in a forest, pine needles and some sap on the tent. Very crowded in August, tents and caravans tended to be very close to one another, and some pitches are completely surrounded, requiring walking through others' things. We were given a list of available spots and left to choose which we liked best.
Toilets dated but clean, showers free and hot. Playground small but popular with our 3-year old. Washing machines only seemed to be available limited hours, we never worked that out. One drawback is that cars must be left in the parking lot after initial unloading, and it's a decent walk--savvy Germans all had bikes. Grocery stores are a 15 minute drive, lovely smoked fish restaurants closer for lunch. Overall really good for a tourist area and we had a lovely 4-night stay.
