Lovely site, only 5 pitches which are relatively flat, excellent walks with the dog,
Didn't try the restaurant,
The showers were clean, only down side to this lovely site is that the toilets are combined with the shower, so if 2 people are showering you cant use the toilet.
Will definitely stay again

To Find Site:- Leave M1 at junction 35A and take A616 and then A 629 signed for Huddersfield. In the village of Wortley there is first a sharp right and then a sharp left bend in the road. It is here you take a right turn into Wortley Hall, take the road on the left through the gates.
Follow the signs for the campsite and park by the gates. Report to reception which is at the front of the Hall. They will provide you will a key to the gate into the CL and make your way to your allocated pitch.
This delightful CL is situated behind the Hall in a garden come parkland setting with lovely shrubs and trees. The five pitches are separated by hedges. Each has a hardstanding base which is big enough just for the unit and awnings, if used, have to be erected on the adjacent grass. The hardstandings vary in size so if you have a longer unit it would probably be best to mention this when booking.
The pitches do have a slope on them and levelling will be required. Motorhomers should be aware that probably a minimum of 4/6 inch chocks will be required to be completely level. You are warned of this requirement on the CL webpage.
There are two electric bollards with multiple connections. Just across from the pitches is a neat and professional water and rubbish collection area. There are separate fresh and waste water points and the chemical disposal point is in its own small shed. There is no specific motorhome waste point so water has to be decanted from your waste tank.
Further away from the pitching area housed in one of the outbuildings are two nice luxurious quality bathrooms containing a toilet, shower and sink, access is by a coded door entry. Given the space in the lobby I wonder if the intention is to provide more facilities in addition to the bathrooms?
There is no Wifi on the CL but apparently this is available at the Hall. I was able to get a reasonable 4G signal here which enabled me to use the internet. We managed to get a decent TV picture on our directional aerial after a bit of experimenting with the direction. Wortley Hall has a lot of visitors, especially at the weekends, and sometimes they stray onto the CL, probably by following the wrong path!
When you stay at this CL you are free to wander around the grounds of Wortley Hall and its gardens. If you fancy a bite to eat or a drink the Fire Brigade union Bar is at your disposal for either bar snacks or bar meals. (Wortley Hall was purchased in the 50's by the Trade union Movement to use as a hotel come conference centre)
The Ruddy Duck Restaurant offers an À la carte menu if you wanted something a bit more special. The village of Wortley is only a short walk away, albeit uphill. There is a small village stores which also incorporates a post office and café. In addition there is a pub and a small Farm Shop.
A bus service runs between Sheffield and Holmfirth but is pretty infrequent.

We agree with all the other reviewers on everything about this wonderful site apart from check in and check out if you have any disabilities and are not able to walk far, to check in you have to drive right up to site gate then walk back to reception to pay and get the key for the gate, there and back took me 10mins, and you have to repeat the procedure when you leave, so a warning to people with disabilities should be on the site details

What a gorgeous place! Wortley Hall is a wonderful building with fantastic views. You have to go to Reception in the hall to collect the key, so it's best to stop near the Hall before you turn up to the caravan site. Once through the gate, there are five gravelled spaces. You will probably need blocks. The area has been newly planted with beech hedging so will look less sparse in future though you are surrounded by trees and plants. There is a pond near by so ducks abound. We saw and owl and a fox on one night and we only heard birdsong and bells first thing in the morning. We walked around the grounds, had a drink in the bar and ate there the next night. The food was good value. We walked the local area and called into the Wortley Arms for a well earned pint but the menu was not tempting enough to draw us back for a meal later though the Bradfield brewery beer was lovely. The local farm shop has great pork pies but wasn't open on Monday. There are tea rooms at the top of the drive and a village shop. It's a lovely peaceful place though you need your onboard facilities and the loo emptying is in the stable block. It's the first site I've seen which had a notice to say you may empty your grey water on the shrub borders. How sensible. You would need quite a long hose or a watering can to fill up a motorhome as the water point isn't too accessible. At £16, it's more expensive than other Certified locations we have stayed at but worth it for the wonderful surroundings. We'll be back.

Wortley Hall is set in beautiful grounds and the caravan club have a members only CL for 5 vans. The setting is very quiet and positioned just behind the Hall. There is hook up but no shower or toilet facilities but as the hall is open nearly all day this didn't appear to be a problem. There are meals available and the bar snacks looked superb as they wafted past our table. There is a village store outside the grounds entrance and this is only about 750m from the hall. It is an area for walking short or long as the case may be. We spent a lovely evening there and would certainly visit again.

We have been meaning to stay here for a while now, and we have. We are so glad we did as well. The campsite is set at the rear of wortley hall, in the grounds the scenery is stunning. Location is great as well easy to get to from all areas being just of the A616 stocksbridge by pass.
All pitches are hard standing and have ehu. There is a tap just as you enter the caravan site so not too far to travel. Only negative that I could for see was the pitch size are a little small, plenty of room for the caravan but we struggled to park the car, as much as I didn't want to I parked it on the well manicured grass patch at the side of the caravan.
Lovely site, easy to get to £16 per night ( I think ) with ehu great value with beautiful surroundings, plus the use of the hall/house/pub which serves great food.
We will certainly be back.

Marvellous. Never used a cl before. But would now. We love small, don't mind lack of facilities. Came as near to Sheffield as we had commitments. This will be on our regular get way list may even use as a base for the peaks. Good pub nearby, lots of dog walks. Don't feel as your are being watched very relaxing. You do get a few walkers nearby not sure if locals or people staying at hall. Have a feeling they get busy with weddings here. Some pitches bigger than others. You get key to gate from hotel reception and drop off when you leave which you need to unlock and lock. Have booked to go back.

Beautiful location, newly manicured site, 5 pitches marked out and pitches are allocated upon booking. No shower block or toilet so use your own facilities. Pitches are secluded by the hall gardens. Cost us £16 a night including the electric. People are free to roam the grounds but don't tend to get to the caravan part due to it having a lockable gate. You are able to roam the grounds, lots of pathways marked out. Just outside the hall gate is the transpennine way. Ideal location for walking. Good pub in village does food though may have to book as it gets busy. Never ate in the wortley hall restaurant.
