 What a beautifully tended tiny site, the field is all grass, but well drained. There are no toilets or showers, however the facilities that are there are immaculate. Each pitch has its own electric & water point. The CPD disposal point & grey water point are easy to use with concrete manholes. Likewise, the dog poo disposal point is an eco-friendly drain, for which you use the provided plastic spade To shovel up & drop in.
The site is in effect, in the middle of a working farm. Authentic smells prevail during milking & noise comes & goes; they were bringing in the harvest. However, if you are happy to watch how other people live or work, this is a perfect spot. Great for couples & folk with very young children, though not so good for families whose children are at school; the village which is 5 minutes walk away has no shop. The views are to die for.
Galphay is a small, almost ‘chocolate-box’, well-heeled village, tucked away in the middle of beautiful Yorkshire country. Can’t believe it’s never featured on “Escape to the Country”!😂. At the same time, it is only 4 miles from Ripon, which is a pretty market-town, with a cathedral, so it’s technically a city.
There seem to be lots of walks available From the site. (you need OS 298 map). We undertook a lovely, gentle stroll in and around the locality? We found the Witch-in-the-woods cottage & Braithwaite Hall, ending up at the Galphay Inn. Galphay Inn is a a lovely, friendly place that serves wholesome, hearty, good quality food.

This is an excellent site remotely situated down a farm track. No toilet block or showers but with 16 amp electrics and individual water taps for the 5 pitches, each of which are well spaced. Slightly sloping, but with an excellent view.
A working farm adjacent so associated farmyard smells but nothing excessive. Galphay has a dog-friendly pub which is small but with a roof garden.
Altogether a recommended CL if you like peace and tranquility. Owners very friendly.
