We stayed here for 5 nights over the half term holiday while visiting family nearby. It was our first proper trip in our folding camper (clicked trailer tent in type of unit as folding camper isn't there).
The site we usually stay at in Summer was still closed but we decided to avoid the August heat this year and go in May as we now have heating! I found this site from a search on here and we were very happy with our choice.
We were met by the pleasant owners as we came through the gates and given a choice of pitches with advice about sunshine. While we had a little help to push the trailer onto the leveller, we also had a cup of tea and biscuits brought out while we set up - lovely.
This is a woodland campsite with trees. Some pitches are right in the trees, perhaps more suited to smaller tents, ours was along the back of the site with trees behind. The ground is woodland ground so more soil and leaves rather than lush grass.
The site is based around the bar and lake, there is fishing allowed in the lake, and the kids had a great time trying to lure little fish into their nets, playing in the sandy area set up as a beach, and also with the giant chess set. There is a swimming pool which was also very popular despite being chilly (it was a cold May in this part of France this year), and table tennis - and maybe other things we didn't find yet!
The toilet / washing facilities were not sleek and modern, they were however very clean which is far more important. We only used one block and do not know if there was another. We did wonder, if the site was full, if this one block would be enough. Another great facility on this site was the camp kitchen. It was our first week in our camper and our gas needs a new regulator and didn't work for the whole trip. At this site it didn't matter as there was a kitchen with kettle, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave all for use of campers - a great touch.
We arrived on Sunday eve and on the Monday am Mr Kettle went off on a bread search, as it was a bank holiday he came back empty handed. Again the owners had this in hand, and keep part baked bread in the freezer to cook when required. We decided to eat at the campsite restaurant one evening and had a lovely home cooked meal on the terrace over-looking the lake.
All in all we had an idyllic stay here. I was worried there were no other families but ours thoroughly enjoyed the facilities on this site and as electronic gadgets were banned this holiday we had a great time together, and were sad to come home. Our 9 year old has already asked to go back. A great clean and friendly site.

The English owners of this site provide absolutely everything. A camp kitchen, garden furniture, table tennis equipment, giant chess, fly spray, washing up liquid etc. The fishing lake also provides entertainment in the way of coypu scuttling about. 3 course meals are available for about 12 euros and the owners are so kind and helpful they even came to our rescue by giving us some euros so we could eat in the local restaurant which didn't take cards, then adding the amount to our bill which we paid by debit card. Although the facilities are old and rustic they are spotless. Not much in the local village but nearby St Astier has a good market and is a nice town to visit. If you don't mind being a little bit isolated and like peace and quiet and nature, this is the site for you

My husband and I went for 3 nights to this site (wished it was 3 weeks!)and we stayed in their en suite guest room which was really lovely. The bed linen and towels that were provided smelt lovely and fresh and the room was fitted with twin beds, two bedside cabinets, two chairs, a table and wardrope, lovely and cozy. They gave us a warm welcome and could not be more hospitable. Owner is a fantastic cook and we ate there each night and can honestly say each meal was perfect and my husband would definitely recommend the beef and guiness stew, with fresh veg and mash, he had it two nights running! Each meal provided was with fresh veg, great as there is nothing worse than frozen! Sitting out with a view of the lake while eating our meal was just wonderful and the site is so peaceful and we felt so relaxed and chilled out.
We did not use the public toilet block as we had our en suite, but other campers said it was always clean. For the campers and for us they provide a camper's kitchen which includes a fridge, kettle and microwave. We saw this site on the 'Little England' programme and it really did NOT show a true picture of how this site is. We will definitely go back because we have never felt so welcome and been on such a peaceful site with owners that are so accommodating to their guests. We fished the lake and caught various species of fish and had a great day while doing so - plus enjoyed our lunch made by them.
There is a lovely swimming pool which is heated, but unfortunately, we did not have time to use it. The site is ideally located for touring and was very easy to find. We have rated this site 10 out of 10 as that is the maximum score, but this nowhere near reflects how good it is. Try it yourselves, you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I have just spent a most enjoyable 5 nights at this wonderful, tranquil and friendly site which we booked last October following it's appearance on TV's 'Little England' programme last year, which did it no favours whatsoever! The owners, Kath and Jonathan have worked tirelessly to 're-kindle the site, having completely refurbished the sanitation block, provided a lovely swimming pool and offer on site catering. There is good fishing in the lake, a stone's throw from the bar and dining area. There's so much to say that's really good about this site, but above all, its the enthusiasm, most friendly of welcomes, and unobtrusive help from Kath and Jonathan. Don't hesitate, just book and go. You won't be disappointed!

We found this site to be very tranquil just the kind of site to chill out on. The sun is on your pitch most of the time. The English owners are very friendly and helpful. Small clean toilet shower block. Restaurant and small swimming pool, fishing lake lots of good big fish to be caught.
There's lots to see in the area, the local large supermarket is five minutes away. Market in riberac town is worth a visit.
