We absolutely love this site. The drive up to the farm is testimony to how well kept the site and farm is in general.
Rebekah is really helpful, friendly and accommodating. The toilet block is immaculate.
It’s lovely to go in lambing season and Rebekah always comes to show the kids on site the lambs.
The views from the site are absolutely stunning and there’s a lovely pub about 3 miles down the road called The Plough.
Location of the site is fantastic for lovely walks nearby at Ribblehead Viaduct ingleton, Mallam etc.
Thanks for another great stay. Louise Holden.

Gorgeous views on a lovely, small and quiet site, on a clear day you can see for miles, as the site is on high ground but the camping area is relatively flat and firm.
Rebecca and John are very welcoming and friendly, keeping the site looking tip top. Being way out in the country, the roads could be daunting for the inexperienced driver but they are very quiet on the whole.
Nearby the town of Settle is beautiful with a market on Tuesdays and the Settle to Carlisle Railway.

What a gem!
Met on arrival by a very friendly man - didn't get his name - who explained where everything was and that Rebecca would be along later to collect our money unfortunately when she arrived we were out making the use of the good weather but we caught her on the second night and she was totally unfased by our not paying earlier.
£15 per night including EHU - Ive paid nearly as much for a carpark!
Facilities were spotless even though all the hard stand pitches were occupied although I fear the facilities might be a bit meagre if (when) the grass pitches are in use.
Didnt use the showers which charge by the minute - 10p per minute - so I suggest 40 - 60p will be adequate for most people, if you are short of 10p s Rebecca has a bagful with her on her evening visit
Site tidy, bins empty very little to complain about really

The main reason for us choosing Marl Barn was the closeness of the site to Gisburn Forest [half a mile either way] and its multitude of mountain bike tracks & trails.
The site has a walled formal CS with hard standings & hook up and a separate area for tents & other units on the grass adjoining the entrance road.
There were toilets, showers, washing up sink & a sitting area all within the same building.
Rebekah was on hand each evening to check that all was OK. The site was neat & tidy and the bins were emptied on a daily basis [which isn’t always the case!].
At the time of our visit [Aug 2020] there was a café/bistro at Tosside which partially replaced the pub that now seems to be closed permanently.
The site is on exposed high ground so whilst the views are superb, it can be a bit windy at times!
A friendly laid back site and one to recommend for great access to the mountain biking experience close by.

We liked the site
Very clean and Rebecca very helpful, welcoming.
Nice tearoom 2mile away lovely breakfasr. 2mile from forest hub and another cafe lots of bikers.
Only one drawback, no off road walking for the dog so drive to destination to have a walk.
Would call again

Great for an overnight stop. Quite remote but fantastic views if that's what you're looking for.
Toilets and showers were spotless. EHU, drinking water and waste disposal all available.
Would definitely stay again.

Spent two nights at Marl Barn as we wanted to be near to Gisburn Forest. The site is not visible from the road, you have to enter the gate and follow the farm track, the camping area becomes visible as you drive towards the farm house.
The site is basic, no toilets or showers but EHUs have been installed and will be available next year. The camping area has hard standings and is surrounded on three sides by dry stone walls, the other side has wooden fencing and overlooks a field that has sheep and geese in it. Although there is some shelter from the walls, the site is quite exposed due to the landscape. The views from the site are absolutely fantastic, there are 360` views across the Dales. I could have spent hours watching the views change with the weather.
There is a pub in Tosside (The Dog and Partridge) but the opening hours are very limited and unfortunately, it wasn't open during our stay. There is also a bistro in the village, it doesn't have an alcohol licence so you can take your own. There are limited shops in the area so you may need to stock up with supplies before arriving on site.
The site is very close to Gisburn Forest which is ideal if you like mountain biking or walking. Mountain bike hire is available in Tosside. We spent a couple of hours walking around the Stocks Reservoir. It's possible to hire small boats to go fishing on the reservoir and this seemed to be very popular as there were a lot of boats out on the water.
If we were in the area again, we'd happily stay at Marl Barn. Great price of £5 per night for two adults and a dog
