We arrived early in the day and set up quickly on the pitch, which we both thought was lush.

It was a really good campsite and we experience nice weather.

Love the site. Small, basic and quiet but that’s exactly what I wanted.

Couple who own it are nice enough and if you just want to chill out and get back to nature this is the site for you.

Will definitely be back.

I arrived on a wet windy cold day to a lovely warm welcome. This is a very secluded site. But high up and such lovely views.

So relaxing and peaceful.

Definitely a place to go to. I will return for a longer stay.

Hearing of a 'new' naturist campsite in Devon, we took the first opportunity to see it, despite poor weather for naturism. Run by a charmingly relaxed couple, the site has views out over lovely Devon countryside.

Essentially it's their large garden, with a well-tended vegetable plot and a sizable area of mown grass with shrubs and small trees. Below that, there's a bigger field and a wood where you can wander undressed. The property is mainly sloping except for a flatter strip along the top hedge. The slope shouldn't be a problem for pitching as the licence only allows five units maximum.

Unusually the site licence is from British Naturism. Unlike the usual camping club sites, actual membership is not essential, though BN members do get a £2 discount from the normal £10 per unit per night. Obviously it is intended for bona fide naturists, though it would be a good place for a couple or family new to naturism to try it out in quiet surroundings.

We discovered the 'new' applies to naturism, but not to the site itself. It was long established with one of the camping clubs, but left because of a refusal to accept naturism as a legitimate and popular aspect of camping.

It's difficult to give this site ratings using this website's criteria. It's near perfect if you're looking for what I've described, which is very much to our tastes. It isn't suitable if you have a large motorhome or caravan.

The access is a mile along a single track road with few passing places, and the turn into the site might be difficult. Nor if you need elaborate facilities. There's just a tap for drinking water and a composting toilet with a small wash basin in a wooden hut.

Like everything else, the hut has the air of a 'labour of love', not of a commercial enterprise, with books to read and a flower in a jar.
