We stayed for 4 nights over the Easter holiday period, combining a friend's birthday party with a slightly longer break.
The trouble we had was that for the first 2 days, it barely stopped raining even for a moment which meant that the site turned from what it was when we arrived - a small, pretty grass-covered field where the ground was slightly soft in places - into a mud bath. This also meant that it was hard to judge the cleanliness of the wash block - one toilet and one shower - because there was nothing we could do to stop the floor from getting filthy just by setting foot in there. It's a shame though that there is no hot water at the sink and that hot water for the shower is coin-operated; I completely understand why the owners have done this but personally I'd prefer to pay an extra couple of quid per night pitch fees.
Assuming that you don't get quite so unlucky with the weather, the site is quiet and secluded, electric hook-up points are available and the location is good for both the ferry terminal and for other attractions in Kent, with Dover Castle - you'll need 2 days to properly enjoy this - the White Cliffs and Canterbury within easy driving distance. You can also cycle to the villages of Sandwich and Deal but the hills are steeper and more frequent than you might expect.
Finally a special mention of the owner's very friendly service and assistance during our stay, including helping us deal with an electrical problem on our first evening (in the dark, and the rain) and towing us off our pitch with his Range Rover when it was time to leave. Thank you!

Stayed here for four nights to explore the area a bit before catching a ferry. Nice small campsite, very convenient for ferries. New toilet block with one toilet and one shower (extra charge for shower). Shame there's no hot water available for washing or for washing up. We didn't need electric but 3 hook-ups are available.
Plenty to do in the local area, we went to Dover Castle and walked on the White Cliffs and we visited Canterbury. Good chip shop in nearby village.
The owners were extremely helpful when, unfortunately, we had a bag, including our passports, stolen from our van in a local supermarket carpark the day before we were due to sail. Mr Hudson came back to the carpark to help us look around and luckily we found the bag and passports dumped but lost money.
We'd be very happy to camp there again.

This campsite was excellent. The location was a few minutes from Dover and regularly used as a 1 night stopover before heading on the ferry. We stayed for 4 nights with a 4 year old, a 4 month old and a dog. The owner couldn't do enough for us and particularly my 4 year old who talked to him constantly.
The site is almost flat so no ramps were needed. 3 hook up spots. It cost £72 for the 4 nights with an awning, hookup and dog so £18 per night. Toilet block was reasonably new, clean and tidy with everything you need. Showers cost £1. The only thing it didn't have was an outside sink for washing up but we had a campervan so it didn't matter to us.
There is no bus stop near the campsite so you have to drove everywhere although the owner said you could flag the bus down just outside the site although we didn't get the opportunity to try in the end.
The site only accommodates 5 pitches and there was always at least one other pitch in use each night. The other campers were polite and courteous.
This is a Camping and Caravanning CS site only.
When in the area again, this will be my first choice!

Lovely little campsite. We stayed here for 1 night whilst in the area to visit Dover Castle. Camping field was fenced and level with grass pitches. Electric hookup available. Friendly owner was in the process of installing a shower and additional W. C. In a newly built cabin and said he would also be providing washing up facilities in the future This wasn't a problem for us as we have our own shower and w. C. Onboard. Slight road noise, but it didn't bother us. Village with corner shop within 20 minutes walk. Would definitely stay again

Absolutely perfect for an overnight before catching the ferry. Just off the main road but no problem with noise at all.
Field was pretty waterlogged when we were there so owner let us park on hard gravel area at entrance. Toilets were closed up but we didn't need so no problems.
There is ehu for £2 but we didn't use. Just a quick stopover for which you pay £10, well worth it.
We would use again and recommend this for a ferry stopover.

Excellent site 10 minutes from Ferry. Ideal stopping over point before journey to continent. Excellent central location for visiting Dover Castle, Deal, Sandwich (has the most listed buildings of any town in Britain), Folkstone, Canterbury and other local attractions.
Facilities basic at the moment but this is ongoing and will be excellent when finished.
Very friendly and obliging hosts.

We used this site for a night, prior to catching the Dover / Calais ferry.
Very handy for Dover, being only 5 miles inland from the port.
The 5 unit only site is level, quiet and in a paddock near the house. When we were there the C. S. Had only just opened and the very friendly owners were installing a new toilet block.
There is a village with a chippy and takeaway a short distance from the site. A little further along the road is a large supermarket. Great for a last shop before the few minute trip down into Dover.
We intend going to France again soon and will be using this site.
A note on our ratings. We have to give a 5 for facilities because when we went there was just a tap. The toilet block was still being built, but presumably it will be up and running by now!
The 6 for children because ours are grown up and fled the nest. Whilst there were no swings ect. , we noticed the paddock was very secure, so safe for little ones to run around.
Overall this site still deserves a 9.
